Split resort stay + magical express

I'm looking for some experienced DISers who have done split stays in Disney. This is our first time splitting. We will be using magical express too. How does this work? I have ME tags that have our first resort (POR) listed on them and that is for our arrival date. Today I received another package from ME with tags for WL for our departure date. We will not be using resort airline checkin (unless SW miraculously joins by next month.....). So when I get my ME vouchers scanned when I arrive in Orlando to take the bus to POR, I am then done with these vouchers and I should use the new WL vouchers to go back to the airport? I have to call Disney anyway because the new return vouchers left me off for whatever reason and just listed DH and my kids. But before I call, I wanted to hear from you experienced people how the split stay works with ME. Thanks!

you need the tags for only going to the WDW resort. once there you do not need different tags to change resorts. And you do not need them to depart, because you "check in" for your departure at the resort, the bell services gets your luggage and it arrives at the airline you are using.

does this make sense? lol

so bottom line, tags are only for going to disney, not return.
you will not get a second set

sorry, I see you got the set for the WL, no you do not need those, again, tags are only for arrivals
I only know this because I panicked when I was missing my second set and they told me just what I told you.

Our return vouchers were scanned before we were allowed on the ME bus back to the airport...though you won't need the yellow tags on your luggage for the return trip.

And since SW does not participate in the RAC process, you will need to check in at the airport with your luggage...which will come with you on the ME bus. :)

Well, not technically *on* the bus, but underneath. ;)

We just checked in at the podium at WL on our return day. No one asked to see our tags or anything. Not a problem.

Thanks everyone. I was just confused about which voucher I needed to show the ME driver -- you know, the one he scans before we get on the bus. So I will show him the POR voucher when I arrive in Orlando. When we leave Disney, I will show him the WL voucher.

If I have that wrong, please correct me! Thanks, again!

We have similar situation. 1st half of split stay is at CSR. I just got the tags in the mail today. I noticed on my travel voucher (need it to board ME) that only my arrival date at CSR was listed. Also, only my arrival flight info was added for some reason. I had to call and the CM added my return flight info (this makes 3rd time it's been added!) and told me they'd put another travel voucher under our door at our 2nd hotel, ASMo, the day before we leave for good. Like previous posters have said, you only need the yellow tags for going there. In my case, I guess the split stay confused the system for some reason. I will assume all is handled at this point. :rolleyes1

When you get to the airport and check in at the ME counter, they will confirm your return information. Make sure they have the proper resort for your return. The day before you are scheduled to leave, you will get an envelope on your door handle, in that envelope there is a letter which tells you what time you will be picked up for your return to the airport. You will need this letter when you board the bus to go back to the airport. Check to be be certain everyone in your party has been included.
If for some reason you do not get anything the day before you leave, just go to the concierge desk at the WL and they will be able to help you get the paperwork you will need.
