split reservation transport HELP!

I chatted online with a cm 2nite that said we should use internal bus to go from resort to resort for a split stay. I have never seen luggage on a bus before. She said that is what they suggest or a taxi.

So, what is best way to transport 3 adults one teen, and what taxi service is best as I cannot see us dragging luggage anywhere. Thinking this split reservation may be more hassle than it is worth.

Can anyone help? What about approx cost for taxi..por to poly

I dont know why the CM told you to used internal transportation for your luggage as luggage is not allowed on transportation buses. If you are staying at 2 disney resorts it isn't hard. Bell services will move your luggage for you but it can take a few hours. Then you can either take a taxi or bus transportation.

Bad advice - not only for the luggage reason, but more importantly because there is no "internal bus to go from resort to resort" at WDW.

I wish the CMs would just learn to say "I don't know." I would give your luggage to Bell Services, go to the park of your choice, and when you're done, take the bus from that park to the new resort.

If you really want to go to the new hotel straight from the first hotel, take a cab or else you will have to use Disney transport to get to some park and then take additional Disney transport to get to the 2nd resort.

Just call bell services before you leave and have them pick up your bags - they'll transfer them to next resort. Should be available for you at next resort around 3:00 they usually tell us.
We do LOTS of split stays - don't worry, it is easy.
If take a cab, could take your luggage with you. If room isn't ready, have Poly hold your luggage up front for you and deliver to your room when room is ready.

Have a couple options.
If take cab... best price estimate I can give you is $18 including a tip. Last trip we went from POFQ to GF and that's what it cost us. So maybe around that I'd plan, maybe a touch less since Poly a touch closer than GF.
Getting a cab... we just walk out front resort to where bell services would be - and they call a cab over for us.. they're usually sitting in the parking lot waiting.

What are your plans for the day? Another option is call bell services to take your luggage - then go off to a park for a bit, or what we do many times, off to breakfast at a park or resort.... and then when done, just take disney bus over to your new resort. Sometimes it's nice to take off to a park and then come time for a nice mid-afternoon break, head over to new resort and check in and relax and get settled in enjoying the new resort. Also, that way your room should be ready. If go right in morning, room may not be ready. It may be.. .I'd say from our experience, about 70% of the time the room is ready.
And pack swimsuits and essentials you'd need till your luggage arrives if you do plan on going to the resort early.

Bell Services moving your luggage is really easy. Just call down before you are ready to have it picked up from your room. They will come and take it away for you, then you go over to your new resort (or go later in the day if you prefer) and check in. If you go later your luggage may already be there and you can have it sent up to the room, if not, when it arrives Bell Services will bring it up to the room. It's really very easy

Thanks everyone. I knew she was wrong but she insisted! I think we'll call a taxi with our luggage and have poly hold it. We planned on spending day at Poly just relaxing and not doing a park (though I often change my mind )
We're doing poly club level (first time), so maybe our room will be ready if we're lucky. I will definitely pack our bathing suits and cover ups in a small bag.
Does poly have lockers near pool, quiet one or only main pool?
We did not request any room or area, since I "think" club level is only in Hawaii building, any tips, hints or otherwise appreciated. This add on for the trip was last minute, so rather than being "prepared" I feel like I am fumbling, not a "me" thing as I am a Planner....

Taking the cab is going to be the best idea for you...especially if you are planning on hanging at the resort for most of the day.
I know that when I have done split stays, it has taken until past 5pm to get my bags delivered to me. And I hand them off around 7am!!!

Now, I take anything I may need for that day with me, rather than hoping I get my bags sooner. For those who do decide to let Disney move your bags, this is how we do it..
hand off bags first thing in the morning and then leave that resort. We head to a park for a few hours, maybe eating breakfast. Then, after lunchtime, we take the bus to the 'new' resort and get checked in. Sometimes we've been able to get into a room then, sometimes we have to wait until later than afternoon. Don't expect your bags until after dinnertime..if you get them earlier than that, terrific. If not, you won't be disappointed.

Enjoy the Poly club level - it's great - just steps from both pools, too! And you have the advantage of hanging out in the lounge if you're waiting for your room as well. And yes, it's all in the Hawaii building unless you are in a suite, which I don't think you are, by your post.

I don't think there any lockers at the Poly pool - never any that I have seen unless there would be some under the volcano in the restroom. And the Poly does not have a fitness facility, so I'm thinking no lockers.

No lockers, Ugh! We also have dinner reservations, so we'll need clothes for that too, so we will def use the taxi and bring our own bags so we don't chance not having our stuff. ...but no where to store our other stuff, I mean passports/$$/cc's etc , not really comfortable leaving in the luggage area Do they have safes we can use at front desk, like por?? Had really planned on being at pool area for most of day, dinner and then watching the fireworks.
The dh is already not thrilled with a split, says it is too much hassle, unpacking, packing but I really thought the holiday weekend would be nice there, so the better prepared I am to get it to run smoothly, the easier my life will be.
...well, I will just keep plugging the dh to go to the bar, have a lapu lapu and relax after all those park days that should work!

Oh, one other question where is the check in for club, (I read somewhere that it is diff? ) At main desk upstairs??? Thanks again, I am pretty excited to "experience" poly

I'm sure there is a safe you can use - not sure if there is one in the Hawaii building or only the main building - just ask the concierge staff when you're checking in. There are also bathrooms upstairs in the Poly lounge - another friend of mine says they always change there on check-out day before heading to the airport (after using the pool).

When you arrive at the Poly, go straight to the bell services desk outside when you get out of the cab (it is on the far end of the portico area when you drive up) - tell them you are staying club level and need to check in. They should have a golf cart come around for you that will take you and your luggage back to the Hawaii building. That is where you check in for club level. You do not need to enter the Grand Ceremonial House at all at this time. It's very nice and relaxing - there are 3 desks where you check in. They will take care of you well, I'm sure.

Stop in the lounge - have some snacks or breakfast (depending on what time it is - breakfast time or afternoon) or grab a drink from the cooler or a coffee if the food is not out, and gaze out the window at the wonderful sight of the castle! It's really magical!
