Split reservation one resort question

Hi all

I was lucky enough to get 4 of my 5 nights at the AP rate for Coronado Springs. The first night of my stay however is at rack rate. I have the same category room "water view" for both reservations and I realize I will have to "check out and check in" but I hope to keep the same room.

Anyone have experience doing this and keeping the same room? I am traveling alone with my two young daughters and it would just be so much easier not to have to change. Even with the resort storing our stuff it just seems silly to move us.

I plan to call every once in a while to try and add the first night to the AP reservation but I feel as if I have to plan on the two seperate resservations just in case.

I guess I just wonder what the chances are of us staying esp if the room category is the same. Any experiences or ideas?

The same thing is happening to us in Nov. We have AAA rates and AP rates and thus separate reservations. They have noted on our reservations that they are "continuing". Hopefully, they will do all they can to keep us in the same room. I also plan to fax our resort a few days prior to arrival with a reminder. You may want to do the same and also mention that you are traveling alone with your little ones. I would hope that they would do everything to accommodate you.

When is your trip? I checked again today for AP rates for our AAA rate nights in Nov, and CS was the only resort with openings.

CRO should have 'linked' the two reservations. If not, ask them to do so. It would be worthwhile to contact the resort a few days ahead to reiterate your needs and also mention it on check in. While it's theoretically possible that you might need to move, it's never happened to us and I've rarely seen anyone post that they had to. We did, however, have to go back to the front desk and get new room cards (check out/check in on paper). This didn't take long and I did it first thing in the AM.

Thanks for the info I feel a bit better already. I will fax ahead, I usually do anyway to remind them about our guaranteed non-smoking room due to medical issues (they sometimes "forget"!).

Next time I call to inquire about the additional AP day (nov 6th) I will see about linking or continuing reservations, thanks for the tip.

Hopefully it will all work out and I will at least be prepared to move and hopefully it won't be necessary.
