I have a ? about the split plate charge. I understand how it works if say me and dh want to share an entree...but what about this scenerio: Dh orders and entree and I order and entree and we want to split those 2 between us. Surely they don't charge us for that....or maybe they will.

The split plate charge kicks in when you ask them to split the meal for you in the kitchen. I believe if you were to order just one entree and ask for it to be split, the main entree would be split and you each get your own sides and you would be charged the split plate fee. If you were to order one entree and ask simply for an extra plate and do the splitting yourself, then there should be no split plate fee. So in your case, you should each order your own meal and do the splitting yourselves. If you need an extra empty plate to make this easier, you should be able to ask for it.

longtime is correct. If you were at Blue Bayou, for example, and said you'd be splitting the chicken entree, you would each get a choice of gumbo or salad and each get a serving of potatoes and veggies in addition to half the chicken portion. That is why it is $12. If you just wanted to split it in half, you can ask for an extra plate and do the splitting for yourself at the table. In your situation where you would each be ordering a different entree and want to swap some at the table, they will not charge you a fee.

It is more of "sharing" the meal not "splitting" the meal.

Thanks so much guys. This is what I was hoping was the case. Alot of times I will split my entree with dh or the kids so that we can try the other items on the menu as well as what we are having.
