You will automatically get seperate checks. There have been times we paid OOP for DS to get a kids meal (instead of an adult meal with his credits) and seperate checks were brought for our DDP meals and his. Not a big deal at all, just let your server know before you order who's using DDP and who is not
You answered your own question. We did this very thing at Le Cel in Jan. And of course, we all had to have the soup. Our bill was for the soup and our tip, and Becki's was for her meal and tip. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.
