Split deluxe stay or CBR

I'm planning a January trip with my son (10) just the two of us. It will be our 4th trip. We have done a split stay before with ASM and AKL. We took an Uber to the resort and handled our own luggage. We had no problems and liked being able to see two different resorts.

I have a dilemma. I realize these are all personal opinions and preferences but I like hearing them. We could rent points and do a split stay, 2 nights BRV, 1 night Rivera and 2 nights BWV. I would rather not do the one night but there is no availability at either for 3 nights. We've never stayed at any of these.

Our other choice is to stay at CBR for the entire 5 nights. Depending on what point rental price I can find, this would save a few hundred dollars. We do like the skyliner (stayed Pop last trip) but the lines seem long these days. With the shorter park hours, I can see us enjoying touring the different resorts this trip if we did the DVC option. We enjoy doing the scavenger hunts and the different activities Disney offers besides just rides and attractions.

Any opinions? What would you choose?

I love split stays but would try to limit it to two. Can you do 2 nights at BRV/3 at CBR or 3 CBR/2 Bwv?

I love split stays, but after my last one I think the least amount of time I'd want to stay at one is 2 nights, but would probably hold it to 3 or more at each. It's such a time eater to pack and transport, and then you also have several days where you don't have a room for several hours (unless you get lucky and your room is ready really early).

I don't mind split stays but 3 resorts in 5 days would feel like too much moving around for us. We'd go with CBR, especially if it's less $. Plus you can hop on the Skyliner to check our Riviera and have a meal. It's a pain packing/unpacking and getting your luggage over while you're also trying to visit the parks. Once is OK but twice could feel tiresome.

I love split stays, but I wouldn't do it this time. I would book all CBR. A cash booking is a lot more flexible, which is valuable in times like this. The gondolas have been a great way to travel (assuming weather cooperates) and CBR has an awesome pool. The incentives right now are crazy good.

If you must split, I'd do 2 night BW, the rest CBR.

Disney is still transferring luggage for you now, so you don't have to do it all yourself.

Disney's cancellation policy is a good benefit to not book with points right now. Good point. I'm liking the idea of CBR and one of the other resorts though if we do split. I agree. Three in 5 nights may be too much. Thanks for the input! :)
