Splash Mountain

From my experience, the drop is definitely not bad, the people that I know who have moderate issues with drops are ok with it. It's mostly the "getting wet" factor that is the issue

Okay I'm feeling so much better, thanks everyone :) One last question - I'm a size 16 and my kiddos are quite small. The smallest will go with my husband, but the other one that's stuck with me...will she fall out?? lol
Lol! Not a chance! Splash Mountain didn't even have lap bars from when it opened in 1992 until 2011 and those were installed to keep people from climbing out on purpose, not falling out. The seats are very low.

Going to be honest, the drop does give you the tummy toss feeling. But like everyone said, the drop is quick and towards the end of the ride so you should be fine!

As for falling out, the seats comfortably fit two adults. So one adult and one small child should fit well and your little one is not going to fall out! There are handles in front of your seat to hold onto if you get the feeling like you may fall out, but I don't think it has ever been an issue before!

lol I suppose we would've heard reports of children just flying off of Splash Mountain! I'm okay with the tummy toss feeling, I think it's just the height of the drop. But it sounds like I should be okay :)

If it helps for many years, 18 years, this ride had NO lap bars,

and no people flew out. :thumbsup2

The reason they put them in was to keep those stupid guests from getting off during the ride.

Splash Mountain is a wonderful E Ticket, definitely an unmissable ride. Even if you don`t like drops, that`s a small price to pay. And yes, it will be over real quick.

Like you I was so scared to go on this ride. I hate the tummy feeling but my 5 year old was begging!! So I went on...cringed the entire time. I was so scared! I agree with others. the drop is over and done so quickly. You mentioned being more afraid of the height but while riding you really can't see how high you are.

I hope you enjoy it. It's a really nice ride for little one's. They just love the theming.

IMO, the intensity of the final drop on Splash Mountain is low. I think it's one of those rides where the drop looks more intimidating than it actually is. FYI - Splash Mountain has a nice little drop in the dark midway through the ride. :-)

The drop itself is not bad (and I HATE drops), but when you are paused, right at the top, you'll think, "this is awful!" When you finish the drop, however, you'll think, "That's it? That wasn't bad at all!" I promise!

Morning! I just booked my fast passes and pretty much got everything we wanted, except for SDD - not bad! Anyway, my kiddos are 4 and 7 and are really interested in Splash Mountain, but I'm afraid of it! I did book a FP, so now I have to be brave lol. I love BTMR, SDMT, Test Track - too chicken to try Everest and Space Mountain. Will I be okay with the drop on Splash Mountain??? I know it's personal, but I'm interested in any feedback :) Thanks!
Same age as my girls. They will love it!! and so will you ;)

Thank you! I told DW I remembered riding it without a lap bar when I was a kid and she told me I was crazy. She’s right, but not about this one.

Just remember you only have to be brave until the ride leaves the station. Then you can't go anywhere. :-)

It's a low to moderate drop. You will be absolutely fine. There is pretty much zero chance of hurting yourself on Splash Mountain. It's a fun ride too, although in many ways I wish it would get a new skin. It's uncomfortable for me as an adult since my son doesn't understand who the characters are or what the story is behind the ride.

Maybe Disney could make a new story that fits with the songs mostly? I dunno…. but so something.

My sister was one of those. :jumping1:

Although not on splash mountain. She climbed out of the 3 caballeros ride back when it was El Rio del Tiempo.

I hate drops as well, but after having Splash down the last 2 trips we were there, I'm really hoping it's open this time and I can make myself go on it! lol
