Splash Mountain

Will be at MK this Sunday YAY!!! My family love Splash Mountain but last year when we rode it, the hand bars were moldy and stunk very bad even after washing my hands in the bathroom with soap and then putting on hand sanitizer I still could smell that horrible smell. I felt like I needed to go back to the resort for a shower and change into clean clothes afterwards that is how bad it smelled. Anybody that has road it lately does it still have that awful smell? My family wants to ride it but I'm not looking forward to that awful smell either.

While I can't speak to the current smell, that is a side effect of the heat, humidity, and constant moisture that part of the world gets, and the padding makes it worse. Sorry.

I've been on Splash a few times this week and I haven't noticed a smell

I rode it in July and the lap bar stunk, the same as it did last November when I rode Splash. I wouldn't say it stunk so bad, that I felt I needed a shower, but I definitely washed my hands very well after riding. Smells like BO to me.

I often refer to the "Splash Mountain" smell. I know what you are talking about and honestly it has smelled that way for as long as I can remember. It's just because the padding gets wet and then...you know...smells.

I just dowse our hands in hand sanitizer after and that takes away the smell.

They are stinky but I always have a poncho on and keep my hands inside the poncho so I never actually touch the bar. Maybe that will help keep the smell from getting on your hands?
