Splash Mountain suddenly off and GET OUT

We saw a sign earlier this week reminding guests that getting out of a ride boat would result in removal from the park. I can’t remember which ride, but I thought it was new. Must be an uptick in people doing that.

Living With The Land in Epcot

We were just on EE today when the ride was delayed right before we were supposed to go backwards, drop and pull into the station. When we finally exited, we saw CMs trying to retrieve something from the track. On our last trip, almost every single big ride we tried to get on shut down and we witnessed one woman drop her phone on Aliens and completely shut down the ride. I really wish people old secure their stuff so they don’t ruin the rides for other people

Aliens?

Don’t know if disabling phones would solve the issue entirely. Last time I was at DL waiting to ride Space in the handicapped vehicle a kid who was told to put a bag back with their mobility device got out and walked around! Thankfully we weren’t in motion. And Mom was giving the kid an earful over doing something so stupid. But still stupid and the CM added on a bit when he realized what had happened. But yeah in that case less phone more kid doing something stupid.

Wonder if it gets bad enough they'll have to go the universal route and just straight ban phones and things like that on some of the rides.
Yes the lockers are a pain, but way less ride stoppage due to this, and way less people holding a phone out trying to take picks on a ride too.

Disney starts celebrating Halloween in August?!

Wow. It’s still summer where I live. Kids haven’t gone back to school yet. Halloween feels so far away.

I understand celebrating in October...maybe even at the end of September.

And that won’t happen, there isn’t enough space to install lockers everywhere

Unless they put the lockers inside the line right before boarding, I can see a lot of guests being upset. If you have to put your phone in a locker outside the line, then you can't try to schedule more FPs after tapping in.

As far as cell phones go, many other regional U.S theme parks have signs everywhere telling people if they have their phone out while riding you will be evicted from the park and possibly fined. I know at Cedar Point, they have stopped coasters while on the lift hill and employees have walked up and taken the phone away.

Disney may not have room for lockers, they can go the other route and just not let people ride unless phones are in a zippered pocket. If not they have to be left with non riders.

glad it wasn't something serious like a missing child. Sucks it messed up your ride. I agree they should have given fast passes out to ride something else.

on a facebook group page the other day someone posted a picture of splash mountain where the dad was dumping a bottle of water over his kid's head while going down the hill. So many people laughed about it and all I could think was what would have happened if he would have dropped the bottle? I know it's just a water bottle but enough to knock a ride off of a track or if not, just littering the ride!

We were just at Cedar Point yesterday and waiting to get on Iron Dragon and they had to stop the ride because someone had a phone or something out. Luckily we were still waiting to board - finally got DS to ride some coasters and he would not have liked to have been stuck, it was hard enough for him to stand and watch the train holding on the lift hill!
