OK, I've been searching but I can't find anything...when we were there in the spring, Splash was closed for rehab, had the curtains up and everything. What did they end up doing? Is it better now? Did they change the logs to the style of WDW, that is, 2X2 seating? Can you hear the audio now?

Can someone please update me? I'm sure it must have gotten lost in the hoopla about Pirates Lair and Nemo, but I've been searching through the June archives and can't find anything...help!

Thanks!

I know someone will be able to help you better but I heard from Albort that the logs are the same as before but the ride is a little smoother, the audio is better and the lighting is better. But I thnk they would have to redo the entire ride to get the logs 2 seats side by side.

It opened up when I was there in May for my birthday (The weekend and days before MOthersday) I didnt ride it then. I rode it this past trip and all I saw was a lot more water lol, a screen to view your picture and not much else. Its still single row seating except the back is big enough for two. Maybe others will know more differences since I dont ride this a lot. (I hate wet socks and underwear)
Or go back to May (Begining) in the archives. My birthday was May 10 and it was open for sure May 11 and 12 for soft openings.

When I rode in August it seemed actually more bumpy. But no changes to the ride other than audio updates and Barnaby Owl and his photo thing at the end. Maybe a few touch ups here and there.

I wouldn't know but I certainly hope not. I hurt my back last November going up those hills, that thing was so darn bumpy. Those seats are NOT comfortable. I love the ride though.

The seats are different now. You sit one at a time and there are backs on the seats....looks like room for 5, maybe 6 if two can ride in that back seat.

Here is a link to a photo of the logs. I'm at work and can't use my photobucket account right now.

Our family was in DL at Easter and it was closed. We are very anxious to go on this - one of our favorite rides - again. Zippitty-Do-Dah, Zippitty-Yea!!!:rolleyes1

Do you get wetter now? Can't wait to try it , missed it alot last Feb.

We rode several times in June and usually ride in the front. We got soaked, more so than before. So yes, it is much wetter if you sit in the front 2 seats - not as bad in the rear! I also noticed improved lighting and a much smoother ride as you go up the lifts.

My son and DH got SOAKED in June as well. We didn't know if that was a change or what, but they sure seemed to get more wet then the year before! LOL

Too bad DH is not going this trip he hates to get wet but will do Splash because it is not too wet....................next trip he is in for a surprise:thumbsup2

That's all correct, including the new lifts. :thumbsup2 The landscaping was also completely torn out and replaced, but that's usually done at least once a year if not every other.

For those who've been wondering about the "wetter" ride, the ride has been consistently drenching those in the front seat or two since the new logs were introduced in '05 I think (someone correct me if I have the year wrong). Previously, the logs only had room enough for 5 guests. The new ones can fit 6 comfortably, 7 if a parent has a small child with them.

Is it possible for 2 adults to fit in one seat/the back seat? or must all riders sit ahead/behind eachother?

No I don't think so. I don't even know that the cm's would allow two adults to sit together in the back seat.

I don't think so either. I saw two lovey dovey teens that had to get out of the "back seat" last June! Don't know if it was because there was an empty seat in front of that one and that made the log out of balance or what the deal was but the girl had to get out of the back and sit in front of her beloved!
