Splash Mountain Refurb

I just wanted to clarify something...if the refurbishment is scheduled for August 28th - November 16th, will it open on the the 16th or the 17th? This is probably a dumb question but I just wanted to clarify.

Also, what are the odds they open a day early with long refurbs? I am leaving on the 16th and I may try to sneak a early morning ride in if they open!

People booking FP for Nov 16 have reported it is not an option.

I'm pretty sure it means the 17th. I was able to book a fastpass on Nov 17th. Hoping the refurb stays on schedule with the hurricane troubles. If not we will certainly still enjoy our vacation!

Yes but not something to plan for. Especially after this hurricane, it likely slowed down refurb time so they will likely need the full time now.

11/17 is our first day at WDW. Hope they hold to the original plan because this is my DD's favorite ride!

I was not able to book FP for the 16th but I was able to for the 17th. I added the 17th to my schedule for just this reason - it's my daughter's favorite!

I have a FP for it on the 17th. I am leaving on that day, and normally would just get on the road, but Splash Mountain is a favorite, so I plan to check out, rope drop, and ride it about five times before leaving town.

Yes...but the reverse is also true. Sometimes refurbs are not finished on schedule and they open later than anticipated.

Our trip is second week of December. Right now there are no refurbs during that time that we are worried about. However, any chance a regularly scheduled refurb would be announced in the near future to encompass a trip that's less than 90 days away? Obviously something could break between now and then, but how far in advance are planned refurbs announced?

I have experienced Splash having a "soft opening" the last day or two of a scheduled refurb. They did not make FP available for it, and it wasn't open the entire day, but they did unexpectedly open it for part of the day the last day or two of a scheduled refurb on a trip a couple of years ago. No guarantee it will happen, but it could. It was a very pleasant surprise when it happened for us!
