Hi guys!! I hope someone can help me out with this question! How wet do you actually get on Splash...compared to the WDW version. I have heard that you get a lot wetter. We are going in 25 days, and not too sure if it will be warm enough to get wet...:confused3 Any help you guys have would be appreciated!!

Thanks!!:goodvibes

I do not think there is any huge difference in how wet you get at DL vs MK. In both cases it is a bit random (I have gotten off both completely dry and completely soaked on different occasions) and depends of course on where you sit. :)

It's totally random, every time we've been a different degree of wet. You get wetter when it's hot tho.

In the front you get soaked pretty much through; I think if you're past the front you probably won't get nearly as wet.

If you have 2 large men in the front 2 rows, I can say that you'll end up soaked to the skin in rows 3 & 4. :scared1: We discovered this personally during the 1st week of January. It was our 2nd ride, and we were just splashed as expected on our first ride. But this 2nd ride with the big guys in front, we sort of did a nose-dive on every single small hill throughout the ride. We just got splashed on the big hill, but there was a huge wave that washed over every single time on all of the earlier small hills. I had no clue that could happen!

Fortunately, we were planning to go back to our hotel for a break after that anyways because there's no way we could have stayed in the park as wet as we were.

Yep, we were just there and you definitely don't get as wet as in the summer. We went on it 4 times in a row and every time the person in the front seat (dh :lmao:) got wet (not really soaked) just wet and the rest of our family (in the 2, 3, 4 & 5 seats) got just a tiny bit wet.

Never been to WDW so I can't compare, but I'd say i've been totally soaked (ie: clothes are as wet as if I took them out of the washing machine & didn't even wring them out before putting them on ) at a ratio of about 8 out of every 10 times I've been on. Pretty much, just expect to get thoroughly drenched if you get on Splash Mountain.

In a word - PONCHOS!! We love to wear our ponchos on Splash and enjoy the catcalls and jeers from the people who've been standing in the stand-by line for 30-90 minutes as we walk by them in our ponchos in the FP line.

And then when we get off the ride only minimally wet or not wet at all we smile and wave to the others who have not been as forward thinking as we have been and are soaked to the skin.

But if you do wear a poncho, make sure you get it UNDER your bottom, and try to wrap it around your legs, too.

Because if you think the looks are bad before you ride, it's worse (at least in my head) when you get off the ride, wearing a poncho, and you're still soaked on your bottom half. :headache:

So true! It's actually one of the reasons I love my poncho - I can sit on a wet seat without getting wet on my bottom. I hate walking around looking like I've wet my pants. :headache: It takes just a couple of seconds to get the poncho under you and then you're good to go.

Who knows, it may even be quite warm in a month.

Why does this thread remind me of that song from Idol? Pants on the ground, Pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground.

One thing, we wore ponchos in the front and basically sealed the entire front of the log with our arms and the poncho ... poor couple in the back of the log got all our water pouring off it onto them. :)
