Splash Mountain - How wet do you get?

I got soaked when I rode it just about every time. Even tried a poncho and it seemed to all pool to the seat of my pants that time! Was almost better with no poncho

I got hit with a massive tidal wave going down the double dip hill in the dark. The splash wasn't so bad, but a huge wall of water poured over the front of the boat as it dipped down and completely drenched me from my waist down including my shoes. All of this in the dark. Front row - never again without short and sandals.

It really depends on how many are in the boat, where they are sitting and.where you are sitting and.what everyone weights.

This highly effects the metric height/stability of the boat and the height and.range of the splash factor.

In short...anything can happen!

Enjoy the attraction!

I think it really is determined where you sit in the flume on how wet you will get. I have gotten really wet before and then not so much. Splash Mountain doesn't get you nearly as wet at Kali River Rapids.

I didn't know you can get wet on the POC! We rode that years ago and it wasn't a problem.
It was the topic of a 50 page thread that was on the top of page 1 from like Sept through January. How did you miss it?

This is one of my families favorite rides. You can get everything from a little wet from a splash to soaked. We try to plan splash mountain last, right before we are heading back to resort. We have many photo pass shots of us wet from splash mountain and Kali river. It's a good attraction, give it a try. The only set back for us is when shoes get wet and make it uncomfortable for rest of day.

POTC was not on my radar as a concern and I don't read every single post, every single day. :)

I like the idea of bringing a small towel. Sometimes it's your bottom that gets soaked from sitting down and not the actual ride.

I'm not ashamed to say that I have worn a poncho. I don't like to get wet if it's not warm enough to dry out quickly.

I agree that it is a "must do" ride. It's one of my favorites! So, much that my family gets sick of me singing the theme song.

Sit in the back and on the left side to minimize soaking. Seems like every time we ride we stop next to the waterfall (right hand side) after the big drop and end up drenched.

It is a random thing . .. . you will get somewhere between not so much wet, and absolutely soaked. Usually, it isn't terrible, but I have gotten thoroughly drenched on it in the past.

This! My GF was so upset because she sat on the right side and got wet and I really didn't have half as much water hit me. Our previous trip before that I sat on the right and stopped at the waterfall which isn't a great experience. Now I will always remember right = wet

It definitely varies. My mom is contemplating not riding because she doesn't want to get wet (and we have rode it several times before) but I'm just suggesting she wear a poncho so she can enjoy it (there's so many things she doesn't ride that I hate for her to miss something she does ride).
My mom is almost 80 and wants to ride but doesn't want to get her bottom wet so that's exactly what we plan to do. We always have the dollar store ponchos with us and this is a perfect one & done use. Don't let her not ride, it's too good to be missed!
