Splash Mountain getting lap bars

Aw, darn. My Grandpa, sister, and I would always sit together, cuz we'd argue.

I hope they don't add the protective bars! I liked the ride without them. The drop is not that bad, people will be fine. I don't think the bars are necessary.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does this mean the whole boat will change.
There's 3 of us going so i hope we can still sit in a row together
What was the name of the website where you found it from????????

In my personal opinion, Lap Bars are needed. Yes it keeps people from "Falling out" but it could also mean younger children can enjoy the ride and not worry about falling out

Actually its pretty impossible to fall out of log rides. The only good idea for this would be because people jump out, endangering themselves and others.

It shouldn't change the height requirement, though, because the bar still has to be able to safely hold someone in.

What I mean was when younger children, who ARE tall enough to ride, can feel safe. I know when I was young that I was scared of falling out

Splash Mountain should definetly have lap bars! I mean, even I, as a 'teenager' feels unsafe riding.

i disagree. I honestly dont think
SM needs safety bars, becaus its really nt
a dangerous ride. You still get to hold onto
something. Honestly i think the lap bars are
going to take away from the ride, it doesnt need them

i absolutly LOVE the idea of lap bars!!! the big drop scares me to death. especially with a younger sister! but, with sitting three to a seat... will that still be possible???

I went last week and they just closed for refurbishment.. I left Saturday and it opened sunday/monday.. I got mad.. lol

I went on it right before the park closed, some random guy gave us fastpasses, saved us a long wait:goodvibes

ooo, did you notice that there seemed to be ALOT of water?
i mean, like every time we went down a drop the water overflowed
everywhere, and splashed huge waves....its never been like that

I'm not too excited about Splash Mountain having lap bars. I'm WICKED skinny and I've always gotten the feeling on most rides like Splash that I'm going to fly out of my seat but YOU NEVER WILL. I always go on it with my hands up and I'll make it to the bottom, fine. If you could've flown out of your seat, lap bars would've been in from the start, but it isn't possible. The reason this could possibly be happening is because of the idiots who decided to just jump off the ride. So I'm not happy about it, it will be uncomfortable and SM won't be the same for me.

I agree and disagree on lap bars.

I agree for safety, but I disagree because Splash Mountain does not need lap bars. You never fall out.
And I've never seen any teenage groups try to jump out of the log or anything stupid like that.
