Splash Mountain DL vs WDW

I found the drop on the DL version more scary/thrilling because of the openness of the cars but I got drenched every time on the WDW version and only misted on the DL version.

I love them both but prefer the WDW version because the view of the Castle at night is amazing!

We have never been on either Splash but my girls are ready to try on our next DL trip. This may sound really dumb, but how do you stay secured in the log if there are no lap bars? Is it just gravity? And its single seating which means I can't put my death grip on my kids?! Maybe just paranoid mama here! My girls are 7,7 and 9 and will sit still and obey rules. Its just me that worries about them falling out!

it is gravity but you are in pretty tight and there is nothing that happens to throw you upwards to any great extent - a minor upwards bump at one point. Don't worry. You are secure.

Yep. HydroGuy is right. We rode with our twins when they were only 4 years old. I actually could hold them because they were right in front of me, but you don't need to. My DD likes DL better. She was more scared being next to me at WDW last year than she was the year before with her in front of me. Your girls will be fine. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, the song that the mama rabbit (and hedgehog? something like that) sings to the babies towards the end is not in the WDW version--I was all, what the heck is this? LOL. I love when there are differences in the rides at each park like that.

Here's another one. It totally took me by surprise at WDW when the log just smoothly crested the hill and went down the big drop. I was used to the *thud* that the Disneyland logs make when they get to the top and the front of the log smacks down into the flume just before you drop. I actually missed it a lot! It was weird even standing near Splash and not hearing that thud before the scream-and-splash of every log.
