Today as we were walking across the bridge along side Splash Mountain we couldn't help but notice that there was no water on the hill...it was gone (See Exhibit A...)

there it is...the CM's just said "it just stoped working, we don't know what happened." :confused3

Just thought I'd share :flower:

It's been so hot here, the water probably dried up!

Thanks for posting that picture... that is really neat to see, I just hope that it doesn't happen next week while we are on it :goodvibes

Hmmm... I wonder if it had anything to do with that computer worm that's been going around. I heard it hit some of WDWs computers. I wonder if it got the one that runs Splash Mountain..

thats one of my favs too!!!!!! :wave2:

Well at least it doesn't disrupt the ride when the water on the drop isn't running. The logs still go as normal as they are on wheels. When they repainted the ride they stopped the water on purpose but kept the ride going.

The water still is in the rest of the ride, just not the drop.

That's so funny! I have the exact same picture from our trip to WDW in January 2004! The ride was running but there was no water. They had been doing some painting in the morning and had to wait till the paint dried to turn the water back on. I had to get a picture, too! Kathy :earsgirl:

well that is certainly something you dont see every day, thanks for posting the pic

cool....and yet...not cool ;)

When I went over to SM at 9 am, the water was running, but the ride was not running. Later, we passed by again and saw no water there, like the picture. :confused3

So, if there is no water on the drop do you still get wet? I have never been on it. I can't stand being wet. I am really tempted to ride it as we are leaving the park one day so I can go straight back to the hotel to change. I really want to go on it.

Wear a poncho and ride the ride, you'll love it!

And yes, even if the water isn't running down the drop, there is still water at the bottom and you will splash and get wet.

It better not be broken down, we leave tomorrow morning and that's our favorite ride!!!
