Splash Mountain--2006

When we were at MK in October Splash Mountain broke down and actually closed for a couple of days. When we finally got to ride it, it broke right before we got on it. They ran about 10 logs through and let us on. Then it stopped us right before the big hill to the drop. Now my dd refuses to ride it this trip.

Has anyone who has gone in 2006 had any probs riding this ride? Trying to get some info to reassure her.

nope the only problem is that they over load the ride and it causes you to stop in places that ruin the effect such as at the top of the mountain. but thats only because its allowing time for the other log to get out of the way.

We rode it about 4 times on OCT 28th and had no problems at all.

We were there last week and rode Splash Mountain 6 times with no problems. It was one of my three year old's top three rides.

I hope it's running fine when we go in a couple weeks--it's one of our favorite rides!!

Didn't they just do some spruce-ups to Splash recently? Has anyone noticed that things "look" better or that some of the characters work better (like the fish jumping into and out of the net, etc.)?

Has DD ridden it before? Maybe she would have been scared out of it even if it did not break down.

I would do child swap for the time being until she gets up the courage to ride it on her own.

Actually my brother and his family were stuck in the log a few weeks ago.

I rode it last month. There was a bit of a bottleneck at the end, but otherwise it ran fine.

We rode it on February 26, 2006 (3 weeks ago) and were stuck on it for 25 minutes ugh! A CM came out several times to reassure us that the ride would be starting "soon". We did get a free fast pass to use on any ride in MK at any time for our trouble. We went on it again about 2 days later, and were stuck for about 5 minutes. DD rode it again later that afternoon and had no trouble.

On the KTTK tour Monday we saw an evacuation roiute for Splash when it really breaks down and were told that the route was used about once a week. I haven't had trouble other than stopping for a minute or two myself.

We were there early this month ... the ride stopped for about 10 minutes with half my family on it and my daughter and I watching for them. Two days later when we all were in line to ride ... it stopped right before we were to finally get on. The CM's weren't sure what was going on. It took them awhile to figure out things. I think a monitor they use to watch the ride wasn't working ... or something like that. Anyway, it ended up starting up but not without making our youngest worried it would stop while she was in the dark at the top of the big hill !! We rode it just fine after that!

Wow. I guess we got *really* lucky. We were just in WDW a few weeks ago (early March) and rode Splash Mountain 3 Xs. Didn't have a problem any of those times. I hope you don't have any problems with this ride when you go on your trip!

Last time we went to MK. We were stuck in the middle of SM for 35 minutes. That music stuck in my head for weeks.
