what is the deal wit dem closing are they just cleaning and stuff or adding new things

if they are short term closures they are usually just cleaning, touching up paint etc (like in Splash Mountain case)......for long term closures, say a month or two (test track, Buzz Lightyear) they may be adding or changing attraction in a variety of different ways (new sponsor, adding to ride, changing sysytem that controls ride etc....).............
