Does anyone else just love sitting near the spitting camel by Aladdin's ride? We really cracked up watching unsuspecting people passing by be spit on by the camel. We must have been there for 20 minutes watching who the camel would spit on and then we laugh rouriously loud. The person who would get wet would turn and look at us like we did it. Some of them honestly didn't know where it came from.

I was one of those people in 1998 that was getting laughed at. :flower:
I should have figured something was not right when I saw the big wet spot.
I just figured someone dropped a drink or something.
My kids thought it was hillarious, Mom doing the "duck and weave" thinking a bird just got me. :flower:

I got hit by that Camel on Friday. I had no idea what it was or how I had gotten so wet. It was pretty funny after I figured out what did it.

I saw a woman get hit right in the camera while taking a picture of the camels a couple of weeks ago.

I was just about to go over and warn her when I noticed she was in the wet spot, but was about a second too late. She didn't look too pleased.

It was quite funny, but I waited (unlike many around her) to laugh until she walked away.

Paul.

last july i was one of those those pople who got spit on by the camel. at first i ddint know what happened until i looked up and was spit on again. the only people who were there and laughing was my own family. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

i know i was in the wet spot but i am sure that somewhere there is a CM with their finger on the trigger that spouts the water.

My son was one of those 'unexpecting' passerby's that got hit :rotfl: He loved it though!

This is one of those "you had to be there" funny moments...but its relevant.

Last December, DH and DS went on the ride the night of the Christmas party. It was the first time they had been on it, so DH assumed it was entirely like Dumbo with carpets. I had read about the camel, but didn't think much of it. I spent most of the ride trying to get a good photo of them. Then, after they came off, DH looked at me and said - in the most appalled, indignant voice, "The Camel SPITS!" It has become a family joke that can actually make me laugh until I cry when I remember DH, in his ridiculous Goofy Santa Jester hat, white pom pon balls glowing on and off with red twinkle lights, face just appalled..."The camel SPITS!!!"

So fast forward to this past May, as we walked through Adventureland during EMH at night. Another dark evening (so we never notice the "wet spot"). For some reason I thought the spitting was reserved for the riders, so it never occured to me that I was in "danger". I was just about to remind DH about his "Camel SPITS!" comment when I got nailed in the temple and it splashed all over him. We knew instantly where it came from and probably laughed even harder than anyone around.

Again...probably had to be there, but that camel has given us a lot of laughs!

Most people think its just water, but really it snot. :goodvibes

[with appologies to the Jungle Cruise]

It got me too the other day. We hadn't planned on riding it this trip, but were cutting through that area. It actually took me a moment to figure out why I had gotten wet!:)

I was attacked by the spitting camel on a trip a few years ago. It was totally unexpected and I inadvertently (really!) let an expletive slip that would be deleted on this post. I couldn't believe I said what I said (especially at WDW) and my friend was almost rolling on the ground laughing at me and my embarrassment. So, like others, I am constantly teased while passing that "darn" camel.
