She and you will love it! I have gone to this show since I started going to Disney, 40 + years ago. Every so often, the show changes a bit, as does the meal, but I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere can not be beat, walking through the tropical "gardens" lit with tiki torches and the hawaiian music piped in. I just LOVE it! After getting married, my husband and I went, prior to having children and he bought me a fresh flower bracelet

After the show we went for a walk down by the beach and saw fireworks from the magic kingdom across the lagoon! It was a wonderful, romantic night.
As for the show....the beginning is almost like a little play/skit The characters educate the audience on Polynesian islands, culture and a few Polynesian words like Ohana means family!! Its by no means a broadway production, but its a nice "Disney-like" show for all ages. After the play comes what typically would be a traditional Hawaiian Luau..hula and fire dancers. They are really great! The food is good...nothing I can get where I am from....Polynesian Inspired, but Im sure it has a small Americanized twist. Nothing strange!! The all you can drink beer, wine and sangria are a nice touch too!!! The music and dancing are great. This is definitely my favorite of the 3 dinner shows.
CRT - Well, to me its a must do at least once in a lifetime! Hey, youre at Disney what could be more iconic than the castle. I of course jumped at the chance to eat inside (I did many times as a child when it was King Stephans Banquet Hall.) Ive brought my kids. My boys could care less about the princesses and the princesses were about all my daughter liked! I prefer breakfast over dinner. I wasnt thrilled with the dinner choices and whatever I did end up getting (porK something), I wasnt a fan of. Thats just me though...Im a little picky! I say if youve never been and dont see yourself going back to Disney ever again, you should do it. If you do plan on having a future trip, do it next time!
I dont think Pork should be pink....but Im not a chef, so maybe this is what its suppose to look like and not the overdone dry pork I make at home
HDDR - not for me. Im a northern girl. I have no idea if that has anything to do with it, but I dont get the country humor. The whole show is corny and the food couldnt be worse for me. I dont eat anything on bones, and the meal is ribs and fried chicken. Couldnt even tell you how it tasted, I didnt want it on my plate. The dessert is strawberry shortcake. I dont like strawberries! So, I watched a really bad show and ate a couple of biscuits! I have been a few times with different people, as it was their first time and I like people to form their own opinions. Clearly withg a show running that long there are many people who like it and like the food, Im not one of them, so really the wrong person to ask.
So, Im my opinion, my choices would be #1 SOA, #2 CRT and #3 HDDR. What ever you choose, have a wonderful time and congratulations on the wedding anniversary
