Hi! I am making all my ADR's and I made this, but I have heard mediocre reviews in the past. Worth the two credits each? Good for a six year old?

TIA!

Stacey

We (Me-37, DH-39, My mother-60 and DS-almost 2) didn't care for it. We found it to be very "Disney Channel"-esque, with a silly plot and musical-theater type numbers rather than a showcase of indiginous dancing and performances. And the food was blah. But we loced Hoop-de-do a few nights earlier, and that probably made it seem a little worse than it was. I suppose it's all what your taste runs to.

Don't think of it as a "real Hawaiian Luau". If you do, you will be disappointed. If you instead look at it like a hightly entertaining Disney production that is family friendly, you will have an excellent time. :thumbsup2

My 7 year old and I went last month and had a fantastic time. It's worth it to upgrade to the Catagory 1 seats so you can see everything. I was worried about the food, having read bad reviews myself, but our food was OUTSTANDING. Everything was fresh and delicious. (We went to the later show, don't know if that makes a difference.) The first half of the show is a little too much Disney cheese, but the second half is stunning, especially the fire dancer. My daughter loved the traditional dances so much she stood up and clapped and hollared after each one.

Please don't write it off for bad reviews, we had an amazing experience.

My honest and true opinion? I'm 52, and have no kids, so frame it in that context. It was corny, but sweet, the guys that dance are all really good looking and enjoyable to look at. AND, I got all the fresh pineapple I could stuff into my mouth. Absolutely worth it to me!!:rotfl:

My daughter loves watching people dance. Last year she was only 1 when we went and she sat through the whole show (never once left her seat-not even during dinner). She was memorized. It is not an authentic luau but entertaining. We liked the food too. I am not sure why it gets such bad reviews. We are going to try it again this year just for my DD.

We went in 2007, when my DS was turning 10 and DDs were a month away from turning 8. They all loved it. My DS got to go up on stage and hula dance since it was his birthday...very cute and fun. I was not looking forward to it...thought the food would not please me, but was very pleasantly surprised. It was delish and the included grown-up drinks were a plus. However, we've also done the Hoop De Doo twice and prefer that show.
