congrats on the marrage. we did the spirit of aloha for the first night of our honeymoon as well. we did the second show so we did not have to rush around when we got there. either show is pretty much filled up so the crowd level is about the same. hope you enjoy the show and once again congrats
Might I suggest skipping SoA? If you want to do a dinner show, go to HDDR. The food is better, the entertainment is better, the overall expereince is better. SoA the food is ok, nothing great, but the show, in our opinion, is awful. It feels long and has a few moments that are entertaining, but besides that it's just not good, IMO.
Also, you have a long time to think about it, so don't set your ways on anything specific yet. Who knows what things will look like a year from October.
I think SoA is fine for a honeymoon. It's comparable to the "authentic" shows in Hawaii and folks dress up a little, making for a nice evening a *little* more on the romantic side. Having been to both, I would opt for this one first on an anniversary trip.
As mentioned, if both shows are close to a sell-out it doesn't matter much crowd-wise.
One thought that came to mind is "pictures". I don't know if you might want to catch a sunset for your own pictures or the official "photo-op" one they will try to sell you (they have you arrive early for that reason).
Thanks for the info!!! I think we are set on Spirit of Aloha, although keeping our options open. Knowing him, he would enjoy himself more at Spirit, then he would at HDMR. I told him about both and he seems to really want Spirit. Guess I'll have to show him YouTube videos of both once we get closer to making our final decisions. Does Hoopty do 2 shows a night as well?
I definitely recommend Spirit of Aloha. It's my family's favorite dinner show. DH and I went for the first time on our honeymoon and we've loved it ever since. We prefer the late show since we tend to eat late. Enjoy!
