Spirit of Aloha. . . would we make it?

We are planning on being in the Animal Kingdom on the day that we have an AR for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Polynesian. We were told that we have to be there a half hour before the 5:15 start time. My question is would we be able to see the parade at 4:00 and make it to the dinner show too? This is our first time using Disney transportation and I don't know whether this would even be possible. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I'd also be interested in hearing about this. We have a 5:15 Aloha show booked on a day we've decided to do AK too!

How long would you guys give yourselves as lead time to get to Poly by 4:45 from the Animal Kingdom... using Disney Transportation?

It's going to be about a 15 + minute bus ride to the resort. Once at the resort, you're going to have to walk to the luau. I would say you'd need at least a half hour.

You need to always give yourself an hour when using Disney transportation. If you just miss a bus and have to wait for the next one that could take 15 minutes or more alone. For Spirit of Aloha if you are late the show will start and you will miss some etc. etc. etc. (I'm not sure if they even hold the tables or allow people to enter the theater late??)


I personally wouldn't risk it by staying to watch the parade but that's just me.

Also, once at the Ploy then you have to walk out to Luau cove and that could take a few minutes as well especially if you are unfamiliar with the resort.

Thanks for your input. I guess it wouldn't be worth risking our dinner reservation for the parade. I've just heard that it's the best parade in the world and so I was hoping we could see it, but unfortunately it happens later than all the other parades, and the AK is the most remote of the parks. Thanks again!
