We go to Ohana's every year and LOVE it. I really hate to miss it and I don't know if any of the fam will even consider that an option so what about the Luau? Have you been would you do it again? How is the food compared to Ohana's? Is it worth the 2 TS credits on dining? or the cost diff at all?It would be 6 adults (parents 40th anniversary) and 5 kids 17, 15, 11, 11, 4.
Thanks!

we did both in april for the first time ever. and i gotta say i loved the luau more! my kids, 3 and 4 even behaved for the whole time, i was blown away. to me it was worth the two credits. altho a tip- we stopped an bought them toys at the gift shop first! lol ds behaved so well a lady came up to me afterwards and even mentioned this. and my 3 yr old doesnt sit still for anything!

as for ohana- apparently theyve done away with the coconut races, but still have limbo for the kids.

i really preferred the food at the luau over ohana, but then i did fill up on appies at ohana. i was leary booking the luau after people explaining to me how long it was- about 2 hrs. they take breaks admit the performance so you can eat. we went to the early one and i wish we could do the later one at 830 but my kids wont eat at that point. they had the kids up on stage for any celebrations they might be having. also they asked any couples to come up and dance while they sang. the only thing that i just realized last nite while reading for booking next year was our server who was great- wally- didnt bring my kids kid food?!?!?! he only brought out the adult food. i didnt know better or i would of asked. but yes we will be going again.

on a side note, they ask you go half and her early. once you get there and do the pic thats not included-shock! they heard everyone into this tiny area and it is hot!!! they will sell drinks, but youll be there abotu 20 minutes or so. then you go down the ramp and get taken to your spot.

on the ddp you will be in cat 3 whihc is the top tables or cat 2 on the floor off to the side.

We enjoyd the luau, but not everyone does.

It's basically a showcase of traditional Hawaiin dancing and fire juggling.

The food is very good (not great).

Some people love the show, some people find it boring. If your family really enjoys dancing, they will enjoy the show.

DW and I have been to O'hana maybe about 12 times. We've just been to the Luau for the 4th. I love both and so does DW. Brought my folks this past go around along with my brother and they absolutely loved the Luau!

If you are concerned about missing O'hana in lieu of the Luau, don't!! You won't be disappointed, promise! They have the most incredible chicken (the best I've ever had..-really!) and all you care to drink wine and beer along with standard beverages. Top it off with a charming show with a great finale' and service that is second to none! While it is all inclusive, I have always given our server an extra $20.00 tip because they were so exceptional.

We are going back in August and we always go to either O'hana or the Luau. We don't have young kids, so I can't say how they feel about it but what I've seen from the kids around us, they really seem to enjoy both. Though O'hana definately has more direct interaction.

That said, you can't go wrong with either and trust me, you won't be disappointed, the Luau is a great experience.
