Spirit of Aloha Luau - Interaction

Hi there!

We have tickets for this show, which we're so excited for! My daughters would LOVE to get the opportunity to interact with the performers - does this happen? Or, is it strictly a show on the stage?

Hi! I'm busy researching for our trip and have been looking into the Spirit of Aloha show. If you google it, you can find all sorts of reviews and pictures. It definitely looks like kids get to interact with performers. One article I read mentioned a pre-show hula lesson for kids and another mentioned audience participation during the show. I wish I had more info to give you for sure though. Perhaps someone who's actually been to it will respond.

Thank you! I hadn't heard about the pre-show hula lesson, but my kids would be in heaven! I had heard tell about some people getting to be a part of the show. I'm hoping someone can confirm for me Thanks for that info- I'm going to research the hula lesson!

We have been and loved it. We took our 6 year old girls and got seats right up front (I believe you get your seating based on when you purchase tickets and we bought them 180 days out). However, I will say that the interaction is minimal--a couple of times there are invitations to join the show (it's been a few year, I think one is everyone celebrating and another is something for children). The Hula lesson that I remember was in the lobby of the resort and not connected to the show at all. That is worth a call to check.

I think seating has a huge impact on a child's ability to enjoy this show--the closer the better.

I do nto remember any real interaction in years. Our first time my husband and his nephew were called up to learn to hula, but that was over 25 years ago.

We have been twice in the past six months and there is no onstage audience interaction at all. Yes, there is a hula lesson at Polynesian around 3:45 in the afternoons, but they aren't connected. The audience participation at the luau consists of them calling up groups of people based on various criteria (celebrating their birthday month, anniversaries, etc.) and leading them in a quick Hawaiian dance on the floor in front of the stage at one point in the show. No audience members participate in the show on stage at any point.

When I was there last year, the hula lessons were in the lobby shortly before the show. I took the picture while waiting to go over to Luau Cove. Now which show I went to, I dont remember! I want to say we went to the second show, because it looks dark in the lobby! So...it would have been around 7:30pm.
