We have an ADR for the Spirit of Aloha show a week from Saturday. Few questions??

How is it (the show)?

How is the food?

Is it really "free" wine and beer? If so, I'm excited :cool1: Ha!

What should we wear? Kind of wanted to wear a summery dress, but wasn't sure if I would look too "dressed" up since I know it's outside and probably really hot too.

TIA!

I liked the Luau a lot; I think it’s really fun. The show is def. a little cheesy but entertaining (I enjoyed it). I also really like the food, but hate the seating arrangements it feels to cramped for me. If you have DDE you can get 20% off the later show which is nice, plus it’s darker out so you can experience the stunts of the show more and its cooler out.

Oh I forgot- alot of people wear summery outfits and hawaiian attire. I think a summery dress is fine not fancy. People tend to dress a little nicer for this meal, not fancy or anything though. I wore a nice pair of shorts and a plain tee. They do take you picture too and you can buy it if you choose.

We enjoyed the show alot. The food was so so and Yes free beer. We do not plan to go back and do this again anytime soon due to the cost. But it is a one time a min. Hope you enjoy it. The guy during the show with the fire is awesome.

The first part of the show is pretty cheesy. I usually refer to it as the "Saved by the Bell Luau". The last bit is much more interesting with the fire dancers. They do give you as much beer and wine as you want, but the wait staff can be very busy. The past two times I learned to tell the waiter/waitress up front to bring two beers at a time. It saves them trips and makes sure you get as much as you want. Some places will only give one drink per person at a time, so don't feel like it is guaranteed but I have had good luck so far.

We went to this show in June and enjoyed the show very much. It was our first time since the meal and the show changed. My meal was okay because I had to have a special meal because I am allergic to the chicken. But my DH had the regular meal and liked it. We were glad we went.

A friend of mine who is going the week before Christams says she plans to do this dinner/show and said someone told her that Lilo & Stitch are in the show. Are they a part of the show?? She has 2 girls ages 4 and 8 and that is one of the main reasons she wants to bring them. Also, she thinks she doesn't need an ADR for any of her meals including this one! :sad2: (Someone told her that also!) I told her she better make ADR's or she will be really disappointed when she can't do any of the character meals that she plans on doing.

Anyone know about Lilo & Stitch being there??

We'll be at MK one day during our trip and plan to go to Poly for dinner, then back to MK for the fireworks. Not sure if we should go to Ohana for early dinner (not really interested in watching WISHES from restaurant...want to be back on Main St. instead!) or to the early showing of the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. Our family consists of me, DH and DS17 and DS14. My kids enjoyed the HoopDeDoo show last year, but I wonder if they would really enjoy the Aloha dinner. They really enjoy good food, so I wonder if Ohana's would be better. Is there any entertainment at Ohana's during early dinner time? TIA for your recommendations!

From what I have read Lilo & Stitch are not there. They are, however, at Ohana's for the character breakfast. I think the person who gave her the info got confused. As for ADR's. I don't leave home without them. It is highly recommended and it saves for a lot of disappointments.
