Spirit of Aloha Dinner closing

I’ll miss the show. Sort of. I went a few times since 83, and was glad to see the show. The food was objectively bad.

its just going under 'refurbishment' until 2024. I’m sure the new hotel will have a version of this.

IDK, the new hotel is a time share so I doubt it'll be a show like it is now. Maybe they'll name one of the restaurants after it or something...

Even though I haven't been there in over 2 decades, this is still a bummer. I remember going there with my family on my very first WDW visit in 1989. I was 7 years old, and after a full day at the parks, I literally fell asleep right there at the table and went face-first into my dinner. My parents and I still laugh about that. :)

I'm really beginning to intensely dislike the decision makers at Disney.
Part of me resists the change. Part recognises that I am not the target demographic anymore. My DD is going down this weekend for four days, quite happily I might add. At nearly 30, she has cash in her pocket to spend as she likes, to see the lands and buy stuff. Not having a place to sit, not having a sit down meal, not having a family along to laugh at the coconut races in O'Hana. Not taking the time to go to the Spirit of Aloha, much less seen anything like fire dancers to tease the attraction. She is the demo Chapek is going after for the parks and Disney+ and Hulu and movies. The world has changed, aged, matured, money now has shifted downwards in value so numbers to me are exorbitant but not to her. Life has only increased in pace these decades. Take out the stationary show, put in lodging and bring more hustle and bustle to the parks. Spirit of Aloha? Wonder how low attendance reached from off its peak? Ten? Twenty or fifty percent off the peak? Replace the need to sell seats with DVC, where you automatically draw direct from banks and skip the personal touches! Push until the market crashes, then offer discounts to lure people back. But the landscape is permanently changed, not that people from urban centers would notice.
