Spirit DTW to MCO July $187.10

Just got a great online rate from DTW to MCO, June 30 - July 14 for $187.10. This is a great rate - lowest we've paid in 5 years! We are very loyal to NWA, but between price increases and strike issues, we decided to give Spirit a try.

Hopefully someone else can take advantage of this great rate as well since Detroit flights have been very high lately.

we flew spirit dec 2004 over christmas,,nice airline,,we also flew out of detroit,,i live way up at the bridge,6 hrs away,, so not many places from here to there to fly it was 988.00 for 4,,,am looking now for nov,,hope something good comes along,,,

Next time check every day. I always fly Spirit from DTW and never pay over 120 (that includes taxes). I am flying out July 18-22 for 120. The rates dropped for two days and then rose back up. I purchased them at the end of Jan.

I checked, rechecked, checked again and booked flights for Easter WAY too early... but the absolutel LOWEST I've see it get is $250 a person... you got a great deal!!!!

I booked our Dec flights (last dec.) in Sept. They were 108 roundtrip. Again, the deal was only for a couple of days.

I just checked their website and it seems like you can book until Feb 2007!

I just checked the web site and found DTW fares to Cancun until Dec 1, then absolutely nothing.
I wonder if they won't be flying to this destination after Dec 1, or if they simply haven't posted Cancun fares after this date yet.

Any thoughts anybody?

If you book far in advance, just make sure you check your flight times right before your trip. Spirit has been changing there schdules a lot lately.

I am sure they will still fly there after Dec. They probably haven't listed the dates yet. I called last week to ask a question about my flight and the worker was very helpful. You could always call Spirit and ask.

Thanks for the tip.
I would prefer to fly out of BUF (much closer to where we live), but I like the financial situation of Spirit Airlines and would be more then willing to drive to DTW if need to.
Looking at BUF, it looks like only the legacy airlines (with Delta being the least expensive) flies BUF-Cancun.

Perhaps I should call an American travel agent and find out exactly who flies BUF- Cancun.
Perhaps someone could reccommend a BUF area travel agent?
