Spirit and ACY

I've never flown on Spirit airlines or out of Atlantic City. We always fly from Philly. Can anyone tell me what to expect about either?

ACY is a great place to fly out of. Its been a few years since we've flown from there, but last I saw they had free parking. Its a very small airport so you can go end to end in just a few minutes.

Spirit flys mostly 737's. They're no frills, but are generally on time with few hassles.

The biggest drawback is that if there is a problem with your flight, there are no other options out of that airport. Think positive!

ACY is pleasantly small -- only 6 gates!!!

Parking is no longer free, but it is quite cheap -- $7 a day.

They have an ALL NEW fleet of Airbus A319s and A321s, and all the seats are leather. No more 737s.

We just flew Spirit in Sept. It was wonderful! The parking is much easier than PHL and cheaper. Security was a breeze. We arrived early on both legs of our trip and we did not wait long for our luggage. In our experience though there tends to be more problems with bad weather / fog.

We are flying Spirit back to AC in March. unfortunately I found cheaper flights through Southwest now (they just opened the dates) AND GUESS WHAT???? I purchased nonrefundable tix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will only offer vouchers!

Factor in parking at Philly though when calculating SW airfare vs. Spirit. And the whole Luggage Roulette problem. All things being equal I'd rather be in Atlantic City.

$70 for each voucher when you redeem it!!!!! They get you coming and going!!! Plus you have to pay for your luggage to be checked in- $5 online and $10 there! JOKE!!!!!!!!!!
