Spirit Air prices take a huge hike!!!!

I'm sick and I can't believe it.
I have been watching prices with Spirit Air for the last month. Their flights took a 200.00 pre ticket jump one way jump. 4 round trip tickets from dtw to mco nov 24th - DEC 2 2005 would have cost me 936.00 last week will cost me 1769.00 now. I'm sick........just sick!!!

I know what you are saying. I went ahead and purchesed my air on Spirit for my Dec 30-Jan 8 trip two weeks ago when it was $331 from Chicago. I checked yesterday and the flights went up $279 and are now $610.

I guess it's a good thing I bought them when I did.

I hear ya! I just posted in another thread that my AA tickets more than doubled from $210 to $460. Incredible!

Wow! I've been afraid this might happen. Bought my tickets with Continental 2 months ago. Just checked and prices are still the same. $294.00 round trip from Houston to MCO.

I started a thread about this a couple of days ago. I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed this. I think it is insane. I keep thinking there must be something wrong with their system because I have never seen an airfare hike like this one.

I'm so happy I bought when I did, at $170 rt.

On the brighter side, I do think the prices will comedown. I can't remember where you're flying from. If you're flying from DTW, have you tried Northwest. If you are flying from DTW, right now Northwest is $250 RT.

OK just checked you would be flying from DTW, and Northwest for 4 tickets would only be about $64 more than you would have paid with Spirit. If you use Magical Express that makes Northwest better because you can check in at your hotel.

We have never travelled to WDW during the Christmas Holiday and air fare was my biggest fear. We bought our tickets at $125.00 round trip on Spirit from LaGuardia to MCO on April 10. When I saw the price I bought right away. I just checked the exact same flight ... it is now over $700.00!!!!!
