We are flying Spirit out of Detroit on 6/22-6/28/04 for our first Disney trip.

I see where I can do seat assignment online - like 45 days ahead of time. I can also print out boarding passes online.

Has anyone ever done this with Spirit? Is it worth a try? We have 5 people going - myself, DH, 2 DD (18 & 22) and DGS 4 y.o.

We leave Detroit at 7:25 am - so will need to be at airport by 5:30 am (leaving house by 4:30 am!!!!). Would this really help with not having to be at airport so early?

Sorry - I've only flown a couple of times and never on Spirit. IF I do print the boarding passes - does this cut down the delay once we arrive at the airport? I've always just waiting in line to get my passes.

I'm new to this site also - and have spent DAYS looking thru so much helpful information....think I'll have a book written with all the tips I've gotten here.

I'm flying on spirit and took advantage of picking my seats, but I was unable to print out a boarding pass. I definatley reccomend choosing your seats ahead of time, that way you ensure everyone sits together, and/or gets a location they want , like a window on the wing, or whatever your preference is. The seats are 3 on one side & 2 on the other. The best was it was easy and quick to do :D

Do you have a preference for seating? Like I mentioned before - I've only flown a few times and it's been YEARS.............besides getting seating together - is there a "better" place on the plane?

Another question - how does this change our checking in at the airport (if I already have my assignment)? Do I still go to the counter to check my luggage?

As to the best seats on a plane, go to www.seatguru.com

Arriving early at DTW is a must especially at that time of day. The lines for parking, shuttles and security start getting long at about 4:45 A.M.!!! Trust me on that!!!!

I went to the website you suggested - however - couldn't find Spirit??? But thanks anyway. I just wondered which part of the plane was better - front, middle, back. I've never chosen my seats before and figured it would be better to choose the best, as long as I had the option.

when using the seatguru.com you should have a pnr# to punch in for access to your ressies, i made my ressies online and spirit emailed me the pnr # right away, but we have to wait to pick our seats for christmas, still to early.

thanks. Yes - I have that # - and it is still too early for me to actually pick my seats online. We aren't going until end of June.

What I was trying to find out was - where on the plane - is the preferred seating? Front, middle, back? I've only flown a few times in my life - and figured if I had the option of picking my own seats - I'd like to pick "good ones".:sunny:

Sorry for another post. I know Spirit has seating 3 on one side, 2 on the other - which would work out wonderful for my family of 5. I have a 4 yo grandson who has never flown before and just wanted to pick out good seats - if possible.

I guess sometimes it's harder - with more choices  In the past - I just sat where "they" assigned me.
