I have flown SW the last few trips, and got a great deal with Spirit. How are the planes, seats, etc? :confused3

We flew Spirit from NYC to the Bahamas in the fall and loved it. The plane was newer and very clean. The seats were comfy (leather, maybe?) and everyone had their own screen in the seatback ahead. The flight attendants were very nice and the check-in process as well as the flights themselves were very smooth. It was our first time flying with them, in fact we had never heard of them before, and we were very pleased.

COOL! Maybe I will switch to Spirit from now on, I don't have to hope and pray for a DING!

I have flown them a few times from DTW to MCO and DEN (when they used to fly there). They fly some DC 10s with the 3/2 seating and they have some newer planes in their fleet. They are a no frills airline, so don't expect snacks, pillows or blankets on board.

I'm flying them a week from today...hope I get a newer plane. Last time I flew them a few weeks ago, everyone with a roller bag had to gate check them because they wouldn't fit in the overheads because of the slope.

The new Spirit planes are really great. Comfortable and clean. We really like our Spirit trip last month.

:thumbsup2 Thanks! Do you fly out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale?

We flew Spirit a couple weeks ago and it was great. Had a new plane out of LGA. The seats were more spacious than SW. They had snacks that you could buy. They gave juices/sodas/tea and coffee free. We arrived early!

I have a 33 min flight, so I really don't eat anything on the plane. I have noticed the last 4 flights with SW I didn't even get any peanuts! :confused3 I think they are only for those that recieve a drink. So, there is NO lining up, cattle call style, with Spirit?

Correct, you can check in online with Spirit and they board by rows, so the confusion of the cattle call is all but avoided... :rotfl:

Wow.....I hope to see what that is like in Aug. ;)

I know they still have a few md-80's in the air, but mostly all newer Aibus aircraft. The inflight magazine when we flew in May said they would be exclusively Airbus by the end of '06. FWIW
