Spinoff What Disney Animated movie(s) do you actively dislike?

Disney's Ice Princess.

It was not one of their big hits, but I thought it had a horrible theme: The storyline was about a girl who was very smart but kind of nerdy, and over the course of a year she became a highly successful ice skater and won competitions. The movie cover said "From Scholastic ... to Fantastic", and the picture is of the girl in plain jeans outfit and again all fancied up in a sparkly skater outfit. Ugh, who thinks that's a good moral for little girls? Forget schoolwork! That'll never get you anywhere!
I thought it was kind of cute (though the ad you describe soudns pretty bad)---but I remember enough to recall it was live action.
Brave -- thought the whole concept of turning her mother into a bear was stupid. also didn't appreciate how the younger bros got away with anything they wanted.

Brother Bear

Moana had a good message empowering young women, but that chicken was so obnoxious I wanted Moana to just cook him and be done with it.

Brave! I think I blocked that one out. Yeah, can'T stand that one either. The little brothers were NOT cute, they were bratty and annoying as all get out.

I really like Brother Bear though. It's another I feel is hugely underrated/underknown

Merida didn't want her mother to turn into a bear she wanted her to change. Merida also did everything she could to reverse the change when it occured

Meh, Merida was a spoiled little punk in that movie. I could go on and on about it, but I'll just leave it there. Needless to say, I actively dislike that movie.

The political correctness in recent (last 25 years or so) Disney animated films is a turn off to me. Imo, there wasn't such an obvious agenda in the older films; therefore for me they're more timeless.

Eh, the agenda was just as obvious in the old movies, you just appear to agree with the prior one. Personally I like the themes of empowerment, bravery, intelligence, sisterhood, interconnectedness, and the like, but the great thing about Disney is they have movies for all tastes.

I don't like any of the sequels to movies. Not. One. I also can't stand Frozen and any of the new ones out. They are terrible in my opinion. Forget the remakes like Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland....where they have real people acting in them. Leave them animated and stop trying to make more money Disney!

The Wild- anyone remember that? We saw it in the theater and it was so awful.

Lion King 2. My DD begged me to buy it and after we watched it the girls never wanted to see it again so I sold it on eBay. Just too dark.

Yeah, The Wild was one of those weird one-off things that Disney outsourced but still distributed. It was done by CORE Feature Animation, who did a lot of TV and Direct-to-Video work. It looks like a rip-off of Madagascar, though apparently there are some who say The Wild was in production first and some ideas may have gone to Dreamworks via a former employee. I dunno about all that. I have never seen either one of them.

Ugh yes.

I can't believe I forgot about Zootopia.

Way too deep for a fun children's movie. I'm tired of every movie having to have a "message".

Hunchback.

The fact that they changed a rapist in the original story to the "good guy" love interest burns my biscuit.

I'm going to get murdered for this, but: The Lion King. I thought it was indescribably dull on every level. The music is good, though.

There are a lot of Disney movies I haven't seen and/or won't see, and many more I could take or leave. But the only one I've seen and absolutely, actively dislike is TLK.

Five years ago we had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen and Snow White for whatever reason kept skipping our table. When she finally stopped she was a total...witch. My youngest DD was so disappointed. Now I can't separate that experience from the character or others who have played her over the years even though they've been super sweet. I'm always thinking "witch" in the back of my mind. Totally irrational but I can't seem to help it.

If I remember correctly, there was a Snow White that had a reputation for not being too friendly with guests. She had a distinctive mole, and that's how Dis-ers figured it out! Wonder if that was the same one.

Well, let me go have a look at the pics. BRB

Take it back, it was seven years ago. No mole that I can see but definite resting b face. Now I'm mad all over again. :rotfl:

Peter Pan- Really can't stand this movie, so boring.

Pinocchio

Fox and the Hound

Chicken Little

Dumbo

Fantasia

Emperor's New Groove

Big Hero 6, love Baymax, but it was too sad.

Inside Out

Nightmare before Christmas (awful music, hated the aesthetics, boring...didn't even make it past the first 30 minutes.)
Bambi (sooo boring)
Ratatouille (rats in the kitchen is such a powerfully offputting visual I just can't set it aside and enjoy the movie)
Zootopia (over the top preachy)
Inside Out (great concept, but boring in it's execution)
Alice in Wonderland

Snow White. Her voice is irritating to me. And the whole "my prince will come" bit just makes my skin crawl.

Some of the ones ya'll have mentioned hating, surprises me but of course everyone has their likes and dislikes. Personally, I love Lilo and Stitch. The love between the sisters plus a cute little alien just makes a cute movie, imo. Emperor's New Groove well that has more to do with loving David Spade than the movie.

Nightmare is one of those love it or hate it things. I love it, but many of my friends do not. I am not surprised that many here don't either.

I did not like NBC first time I saw it, in fact we didn't even finish it, then DD discovered it and fell in love and now we all love it
