Spinoff What Disney Animated movie(s) do you actively dislike?

Frozen. It's awful. Terrible wooden characters. Plot holes you could drive a bus throu. A shoe horned in comic relief snowman and pointless trolls. And the music is just awful. Atonal. I hate Indiana Mendel's voice. Like nails on a chalkboard.

I hate Cars. I can't wrap my head around the fact that they keep making sequels for it. I dislike sequels in general, but of all of the great Disney films, they choose Cars for their sequels??? Though it boggles my mind, I know why they do it. Selling merch and making lots of $$$. That's why they not only did sequels but spin-offs (Planes). Ugh. It makes me so mad that they are wasting talent on Cars sequels and spin-offs rather than making new, amazing content.

I also hate Lilo and Stitch and am finding it interesting that so many people also hate it. Why does Disney do so much with Stitch in the parks if it's so disliked?

I don't think Beauty and the Beast has more music than any other similar animated musical. In fact the second half is practically songless. I believe Alice in Wonderland has the distinction of being the Disney animated film with the most songs.

I didn't mind the original Cars. For me it was a cute enough film for one viewing. But, yeah, the ongoing obsession in the parks and with sequels is annoying as all get out.
And i hate Stitch and have thought for years that only my family hated him, beucase he is everywhere in the parks.

Hunchback.

The fact that they changed a rapist in the original story to the "good guy" love interest burns my biscuit.

Well, they changed a lot of it, didn't they? Never could figure out why they picked it to make into a children's movie in the first place.

My least favorite is Aladdin - so racist. I love Robin Williams as Genie though, so I do watch it.
Second on the list is Peter Pan - I get that it is of a certain (very racist) time, but the way they portray Native Americans is horrible.

BTW, Stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters - think of him as a foster child, no one loves him, until someone does. And see how that changes his life.

Well, I respect your opinion and of course all of us aren't going to like everything, but many people really like Cars. Especially kids and its the kids that get their parents to spend their money. So on that note, they aren't "wasting talent" if its making money for the Disney company. I liked the music but can take it or leave it from there.

Lilo and Stitch is also pretty popular with the kids of that time. It may be disliked here but I don't think its disliked that much overall. I mean Stitch's Great Escape is considered the worst attraction in WDW but yet every time we have been there has been a wait. And Stitch was always one of the funnest characters to meet for us. Lots of people absolutely love him.

I agree with @DisneyOma about Hunchback. Strangest story made into a children's movie ever, imo. Too dark. Too sad. Just too much. Never have seen a child sit and watch the whole thing or even half of it.

Alladin, I love. Jasmine is the perfect princess. And Robin Williams is so funny, he really makes the film. Genie makes that movie something kids seem to love.

I try not to look for the racism or the stereotypes in kids movies especially from "back in the day". In Peter Pan, I thought of it as the way kids play "Indians" (or did back when it was made), not that it was meant to portray actual native Americans because I felt like that is the way it was written. Just like with the Captain Hook and the pirates, just more in the spirit of pretend play. Now the crows in Dumbo? Yeah, that was racist when I look at it now, I just wonder if it was seen that way when the movie came out.

Just because it's popular overall doesn't mean people have to like it. In fact, in a thread about which movies people dislike, they're allowed to say which films they dislike without being told that they should feel otherwise. I don't think you understand this thread.

She wasn't telling people they should like them. She was explaining *why* other people like them.

Which is why I said "everyone is going to have their likes and dislikes". Of course not everyone is going to like it. I never remotely insinuated someone couldn't say which movie they dislike. I personally don't like Snow White. Obviously she is a very popular princess. I just don't like the movie and don't think my granddaughters have ever seen it at my house just because I can't stand her voice. If they watch it at home, they may love it. My dislike for it doesn't change the popularity of the character or the movie.

The pp was questioning why Disney wastes time with Cars and park area on Stitch. I was just pointing out that while they apparently aren't liked HERE, they are liked overall.

Does it seem to you like anyone in this thread isn't aware that other people like the movies that they dislike? Does anyone need to have it explained to them that popular movies are or were popular, despite not everyone liking them? She has a history of trying to suppress other's opinions, and it starts just like this.

So to head off her suppressing other's opinions you decided you'd jump in and suppress hers?

It's a discussion board. People discuss things.

She didn't share an opinion about Cars or Lilo & Stitch in the post I quoted. She later said she didn't like Snow White. That would have contributed to the discussion, but that wasn't what she chose to post.

This sounds a little personal to me. People have said they don't get the appeal of some of these movies. She was offering another point of view. I'm failing to see an issue with that.
