I'm in California, so rust isn't an issue. The Suburban, so far, is the only vehicle to require any repairs, (other than brakes/tires/oil changes) knock on wood. I'm 53, and I am on my third car, (4 if you count the Suburban) got my first one when I was 17. So I keep my cars a long time. First car, a new 1974 Ford Pinto I had 16 years, traded it in on new 1990 Mercury Sable because I needed a family type car, the Pinto was still going strong with 130,000 miles. Drove the Sable 13 years, gave it to my son and bought the Focus....he drove the Sable 4 years.....passed it on to his sister, who drove it a year and totaled it, 18 years, and only reason we don't still have it is because it was totaled with 140,000 miles on it.
Where I work, we have Ford Explorers that we run until 250,000 miles. Our Ford Econoline E350 vans we run for about 500,000 miles.
