I am still out on it. I have three friends with them, two had them removed.
Body size was a issue for the thinner person. Placement on the back, hurts, THe other was in the stomach area, and for cervical issues. That person has a morphine pump put in. nerve damage, not just disc.
I understand that for nerve damage they are suppose to interupt the pain signals.
My son's PM wants to implant SCS, and I told him, really think about it as a last resort that quality of life is affected. He has medication, the scs is not a cure, just exchanging one pain for another for him.
Those with irritractable pain find relief. But at that point I would prefer him to have the pump implant to save on the liver.
If the trial really helps, you could find your answer. If it is not what you are comfortable with, then avoid the surgery for now.
Watch the videos, see if a patient can share with you, and the trial is just that.
