anybody have one, looked on the net but wanted to see if anyone here had one that they have used. Need it for my daughters' baby shower next Saturday, thanks :earseek:

Knorr soup mix in the box (think it is vegetable) has a recipe for spinach dip.

This is probably the recipe doxdogy is talking about, but here goes:

1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
1 envelope dried vegetable soup (any brand)
1 small can of water chestnuts, finely chopped
1 pkg of frozen, chopped spinach, thawed with the excess liquid squeezed out

Mix everything together the night before and refrigerate overnight (it tastes fine if you make it the same day, but I like the overnight thing to allow the flavors to meld)
Serve in a hollowed out bread bowl (I usually use a sourdough bread bowl, plus an additional loaf of sourdough for serving.

Have fun and congrats grandma!

jwsqrdplus2 beat me to it. Lipton's also makes a soup mix you can use. It is called Lipton Recipe Secrets Vegetable.

I make spinach dip all the time...and EVERYONE just loves it!! In fact, just made a triple recipe for a friends party last night. We have been eating the leftover stuff all day today too!!!!

I use the recipe on the back of the Knorr vegetable soup mix (I got it on sale and have about 15 boxes of the stuff!!).....I have tried the lipton and other mixes but Knorr is the best...there is quite a difference.

The recipe calls for waterchesnuts as being optional...but you need them for sure!!! Also, it calls for 1 green onion.....I put one bunch in per recipe.

Here it is:

1 pkg of Knorr Vegetable soup mix
1-16oz sour cream
1 cup mayonaisse
1-can water chestnuts chopped (not too fine though)
1-bunch of green onions (chopped)
1-10 oz pkg frozen chopped spinach (thaw and squeeze out the liquid)

Mix it all together and it is better to make the night before. Also, thaw out the spinach before hand to make it easier.

I have a great hot spinach artichoke recipe :)

1 cup mayo
1 cup parmesean cheese
1 box of frozen chopped broccoli, cooked and drained
1 can of artichoke hearts, chopped and drained
2 1/2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese

Bake at 350 in a greased 1 quart baking dish for 15 minutes. :)

I make it the same as the Knorr's ones posted, but use a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch instead. Then.... spread it on a large tortilla, roll it up, refrigerate overnight, then slice! Yummy finger food.

Ooooh, I will have to try that! I love green onion, and i bet it makes this dip awesome!

Sometimes I use Kraft Miracle Whip instead of the Mayo. It gives it a little extra zing! I also use half Mayo to half Miracle Whip!

As a change I will use a Pumpernickel instead of Sour Dough!

YUM!
