Just an FYI, while reading the bite the bullet thread, I saw a lot of people mention the text messaging.
With the companies we have here, US Cellular, Unicel, Verizon, incoming text message are FREE...you only pay for them if you send a message.
Also- you can send them from each sites website, and they are not counted as coming from your phone. I reply a lot of the time from my computer, as its free.
most plans have an unlimited text option, I believe mine is 12.95 a month for unlimited.
99% of the time, If I only have 1 signal bar, I can not send or receive phone calls, however, I can text both in and out. This has come in handy when I'm suppose to meet someone, and get stuck elsewhere, but can't call and tell them..etc.
The biggest expense here with teens is downloading ring tones etc..not text messaging...
