This is a spin off from the Olympic thread.

So who's watching the Olympic coverage?

We really aren't. We've only watched maybe 4-5 hours total of coverage. We just aren't that interested this year. :confused3

What about you and your family?

We're watching quite a bit. My youngest son, especially, is a sports watching junky, so he's been quite into it.

I've been keeping an online feed of live events on in the background at work, replacing my Spotify music for a couple weeks. :)

I've been watching off and on. I'm not watching nearly as much as I used to. I just don't think the coverage is all that good. We're not actually getting the Olympics. We're getting Olympic McNuggets.

We really are not watching as much as usual. I clicked between a basketball game for dss college (looking for him in the stands lol) during the opening ceremonies. Dh has taped 2 US hockey games and watched those. He watched some curling the other night lol. I have seen about 3 total ice skating routines.

That's about it. Usually enjoy the Olympics but life keeps getting in the way.

I've had it on the background a few times while doing something else but there are really no sports I care about in the winter Olympics. I hate hockey and ice skating, don't care about downhill skiing, snowboarding, curling, or pretty much anything else. I do like cross-country skiing from the endurance aspect of it but not enough to seek it out.

All that I really care about in the end is that the USA gets the most total medals but a quick Google search saves me from actually having to watch it.

If they decided to cancel them I probably wouldn't notice and surely wouldn't care.

I'm watching as much as possible. We get live coverage while I'm at my overnight job so I watch it on breaks.

Not as much as I used to, but I did watch at least something every evening and weekend mornings/afternoons. Caught a bit of every discipline except for nordic combined.

I watch off and on and almost always on NBCSP as they show events in full compared to primetime's collage of events. I'm a big fan of events like the luge, skeleton and bobsled, as well as the snowboarding and skiing, but have no interest in watching figure skating. So really, it just depends on what events are being televised. :)

I'm usually something of an Olympics junkie, but this time I just have zero interest and haven't watched any of it. Not sure why. :confused3

Not a bit of it. I hear tidbits from the radio and The Daily Show (like about Bob Costa's pink eye). Not actively watching.

I don't watch the Olympics.
Not really a sports fan unless there are horses included.

I am, however, being updated about how many medals Canada is getting. Facebook does that to you, I suppose.

Depends on what's televised.

I cannot make myself watch figure skating so that's cut down on a lot of my viewing. :rotfl2:

Ohhhhh tag fairy.....! :rotfl:
We're actually watching quite a bit, surprisingly. We don't typically watch, but my dh and kids are really into it this year for some reason. I think I've seen more curling in the last week than I ever have in my 42 years. And once was probably enough. I still don't get it....:confused3

We're trying. Winter Olympics is usually our fav and I've been revved up for a while knowing CBC Canada was again covering the games because we've always preferred their coverage. That's been a disappointment. Apparently they've been covering things during the day, then doing more highlighting (faux McNuggets?) at night. When we're not busy in the evenings, we've surprisingly been bouncing CBC to NBC more often than I would have imagined.

We were able to do some heavier viewing this past weekend and the cross country relay was one of the highlights. We love to watch the curling but are far behind on keeping up with that and I'm not sure the most recent rounds are on the DVR, so that's disappointing.

We're not watching much; we don't have cable and NBC is limiting its streaming of the Olympics only to people who have subscription TV :( So if what we want to watch is not in the 2-3 hours they show at 8 pm, we're out. And our kids can't see it at all because they go to bed at 7:30.

Coverage this year has been really bad, IMO.

I loved the Vancouver Olympics, almost everything was shown live.

I wrote a letter...

Dear Mike Emery,

Here in the US, the hockey games are being played in the middle of the night through noontime. Many of us hockey nuts work during the day. We record the game so that we can watch it when we get home.

On top of that, many of us are from the Pittsburgh sports area and not only are we interested in seeing the USA games that we've recorded, but we also record the other games to watch our favorite Canadian, Sidney Crosby, as well as our favorite Russian, Geno Malkin. Therefore, please refrain in the future from blabbing out that Russia was eliminated earlier and that Canada is tied up in the 3rd period.

Best wishes,
Pittsburgh hockey fans!

Other than the hockey games, I've seen some figure skating and some downhill skiing. Oh, and I still don't understand Curling, LOL.
