We return to our favorite place in 18 days!!   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    The last several trips, my girls (now 10 and 12) knew about it from the inception and then had to suffer for over a year waiting on the trip to finally arrive.

This time, I haven't told them yet! :upsidedow What's even better is that we are going with my BIL and his 3 kids, whom my girls are very tight with. So, they're going to freak when we tell them. I decided to let my niece (9) tell them, so we're going to line up a time today when she can call them to share the good news.

I don't know why I'm even posting about this, except that I'm so excited that I woke up at 5:00 this morning thinking about it and couldn't go back to sleep. :headache: So, I just thought I'd share.

Anyone else leaving on the 26th, the busiest travel day of the year? :scared1: I honestly don't care if it's a nightmare getting down there as long as we finally arrive at the World!!

Congratulations!!!! I am sure they will be excited.

We never tell our children we are going on the trip. We just get in the car and start driving on an adventure. Last time we told them we were going to Charlotte, NC to visit B and SIL. Thank goodness my kids are not observant. It took till we were in Florida for DD to suspect and DS saw the buses on Disney property and said, "It's not fair those people are going to WDW!"

We still laugh over that.

Have a great trip. We leave Dec. 6th for Miami and then the 14th at WDW!

We have suprised our DS several times before and they loved it. I am sure your girls will love it too.

I wish I had that willpower to keep it a secret! I actually think I am more excited about the trip (in 9 days!)- even though we are celebrating their birthdays!

Just an update - we told them on Saturday as planned - I got my niece on the phone and put her on speakerphone. All the girls chatted for a minute, then finally my niece told them we were all going to WDW together. Both my girls' faces turned beet red, and then they went crazy. It was really a lot of fun. Keeping the secret for so long was hard, but well worth it, based on their reaction.

I'm so happy it worked out as planned! I remember being surprised by my parents when I was about 7 or 8, and it was the happiest day of my life I think! I still remember it all like yesterday. They packed up the luggage and threw me into the car and we were off, but not before we stopped to wish my Disney-loving grandmom goodbye..but wait! She was coming too! Ah, the VHS of that day is priceless.I hope you have a wonderful vacation, and safe travel at such a busy time!!

:cloud9: How fun!

We are leaving on Sunday and have not told our kids, DD8, DS8 and DS17. DS17 almost busted me cuz he saw all my writing on the calendar but I just said I was getting prices. My kids are very familiar with Disney, so my DH has been torturing them with the "maybe next year" he brings it up several times a day, trying to build the excitement, for us that is. I cannot believe I have not told yet! it is so not like me! But it has been fun keeping it a secret! Cant wait to see the looks!:scared1: :cool1:

I've been doing those type things to my girls for months - telling all the fun things their cousins are going to be doing (MVMCP, being there when it's not blazing hot, etc.) while talking about how it's too bad we won't be there to enjoy it with them. I wish we could have waited until the week of the trip to tell them, but I have to get permission from the junior high for DD12 and I certainly didn't want one of her teachers to tell her, so we decided it was time.

16 more days!

We leave Friday and are planning to tell the kids then! I'm so excited.

I booked a cruise a few weeks back for 2010. My 10 year old knows, but my 7 and 5 year old don't. Then when the 4/3 deal came out we decided to book one at the last minute for April. None of my kids have any idea. I'm not sure if I can pack their stuff sneakily or not, but I'm sure gonna try!!
