Spiked heels in the parks!

I would never wear actual heels to walk around. Dinner is one thing, but not walking around all day.

I wear cotton sundresses and skirts when it's hot out. I don't like wearing shorts so skirts are my hot weather choice, but I tend to wear them with comfy sandals or tennish sneakers.

I see bad shoes everywhere. This morning I saw a lady wearing 6 inch open toed heels walking through the snow on the way to the T . I can't count how many times she almost fell. Looked like she might have been on her way to work? I leave my dress shoes at work on miserable days and change when I get there.

When I was younger I wouldn't have worn sneakers on my way in, but now I just pick comfort over looking nice.

:teeth:

Okay, I agree, the strappy heels look painful, but you know what else kills me.........the no support at all flip flops...you know, the kind that are $3 are Old Navy or Kmart....I could not imagine walking all day in those. I have high arches and I just have to have some sort of support!

I respectfully disagree with never wearing heels in the park, although doing it day after day and standing in long lines would be bad.

Wearing a cotton dress, some high heeled sandals, and strolling with your hubby on Tom Sawyer Island to Aunt Polly's for ice cream seems perfect to me :teeth: Makes me feel 19

Im just a die hard romantic.

As long as they are on your feet and not mine -- doesn't bother me a bit. :jester:

Everytime we go to WDW (at least once a month), I wear my Old Navy flip flops (I paid $2). They are incredibly comfortable, but then I don't have high arches. I do have very wide feet, however, and if I wear sneakers, my feet are dying by the end of the day.

Hmmm...

I was planning to wear my spikiest stilettos, skintight sweaters, and hotpants or miniskirts at WDW all next week.

Are you saying this is not a good idea?

She obviously didn't know any better. She chose to wear jeans & heels!!!! Ok, I wear my jeans with boots w/heels. You know the kind everyone is wearing this winter? But NEVER jeans and pumps!!! How tacky.

I have flat feet and heels are more comfortable to me than flats (even sneakers) are. But even I would never wear spiked heels or a mini-skirt to WDW! It must have been fun to watch her limping around at the end of the day. :p

"But NEVER jeans and pumps!!! How tacky."

YIKES!!!!!

Im looking down at my boot cut jeans and pumps.

I have been busted! (I guess) I am going to have to stay at home all day!!! :bounce:

Actually, jeans and heels are fine together, if done right, but definately not on a hiking trail.

Yea,I really hate those skin tight sweaters, mini skirts and spiked heels

LOL Bill! - I can relate!

one thing i have to give this girl credit for: she was handling it very well!

i saw her at rope drop at mgm and then again at the parade and she still looked ok. no limping, no sweating.

if that were me, i would have been in a wheelchair within the first hour! i guess that's because i never wear heels so i just assumed that someone walking around in stilettos would be horribly uncomfortable.

oh well, to each his own!

I have found that my pair of Wal-Mart Teva type sandals are even more comfortable than my $60.00 Reeboks!!!! ($4.00 on clearance).

The added bonus is that if it rains, no soggy shoes and socks :-)

However, I know that the Reeboks with my gel insoles are actually better for my feet and back, so I'll alternate the shoes. Wear the tennies a couple of days, and wear the sandles a couple of days.

I have worn nice clothes at WDW only once and that was when we had our anniversary dinner at California Grill. We did go into the MK dressed like that because we wanted a special picture. We went into the camera shop and got a computer photo of us in front of the castle during the fireworks, then went to CG and had dinner and saw the fireworks from the restaurant!

Don't you ever dress up (heels or dresses) when going to a nice dinner at Epcot? I was going to bring some along in May for those nights. Will I be the only one??

My personal rule: If the restaurant is in a theme park, then I wear theme park clothing (shorts, t-shirt, jeans/pants if cooler, and definitely tennis shoes). I would not want to trek from the Epcot front entrance back to Le Chefs De France in heels. That's a really long walk.

If it's in a hotel and we're going for dinner, I might do khaki pants but I would still wear comfortable shoes.
