Why do they bother us so much? Here in the UK we have VERY few nasty spiders - most of the scary ones are house spiders, which are TBH no bother - leave them alone, they leave you alone. So why do they bother us so much? I mean, I'd never skoosh one, always catch and release - but I can't stand to get too close to one!

Because they are ugly, have more legs than us, and move fast. And with roaches, they carry bacteria. Just ... ewww NO!!

I used to be terrified of any spider/bug. I still am scared of big ones like wolf spiders and roaches, but I am not as nervous with the little ones anymore.

And PETA can get mad at me, but if you make it as an intruder into my house you will have a burial "at sea" down my toilet. Sorry not sorry.

Make sure they're squished, too... damn things can swim.

I was terribly arachnophobic until we moved to a house in the middle of fields. The wolf spiders are still scary as hell, but house spiders I've made peace with. Doesn't hurt I've seen them take down the scary ones!

If it's a daddy long leg spider then I dont care. But if it looks like it'll be a menace, out of the house it goes.

I think it is the eight legs. Just does not seem natural, more alien. Of course in the American Southwest we have Tarantulas, some the size of your hand.
