SPIDERS...Why did it have to be....SPIDERS

That's too bad that you guys were that disappointed with Kona...we've never been here but we're looking forward to trying it next time but now i'm not so sure.

The poly is so beautiful and you got some great shots of the lobby

Looking forward to more:goodvibes

I still can't believe it myself....it actually makes me sad because we truly loved this restaurant!

I agree, I think the Poly is so unique and beautiful....

Aww :( Sorry about the bad experience :( My mom and brother ate there a few weeks ago and enjoyed the meal but I can understand how a meal can turn sour with a mix of bad food/not expecting it and poor service :( Hopefully that was the only sour part of the trip!

I would have given anything to have the server the table beside us had....she was so sweet and kind and couldn't do enough for the little ones at the table...she truly went above and beyond!

Great pictures! Sorry about the rude server and disappointing meal.

Love Jasmine's ring!

Thanks on the pics....I really want to upgrade to a better camera, but there's something about a point and shoot that even I can't mess up:rotfl2:

Isn't that ring gorgeous....I think it was under $10 :woohoo:

Love the monorail picture tour! Makes me feel like I'm there. Sorry to hear the Kona meal wasn't good. You win some and lose some even at Disney World I guess.

You, my friend, are absolutely right....I remember the first time we had a bad dining experience and I couldn't get over it. Now I laugh about it because now I realize even Disney is going to have some duds working for them:rotfl2:I was in denial the first trip

That is just terrible! Sorry Jasmine's dish was so great-- that waitress is just ridiculous though! What an attitude! I hope if you decide to go back that you have a better experience!

My friend Sophia (OhioDisneyLover) highly recommended breakfast to us...so next year breakfast at Kona it is....can't wait for the pressed pot of coffee....I love me some coffee!

I've heard so many bad reports of service at Kona and had the pleasure(?) of experiencing it myself that it might be time to turn it into a theme restaurant. One that you EXPECT the staff to be rude to you. They wouldn't have to do much staff training to the desired effect.

Love the ring.

Have to catch up on the rest of your report. I know I've been MIA.

DIAMOND.....how I've missed you:hug: We have our dates for the summer....are you guys still planning a trip.....we've got Aug 21 - Sep 3......I hope we'll be there at the same time......

That story was too funny about Jasmines 1st SM ride. Heck, I was scared the 1st time I rode 2 years ago when I realized no one would be sitting by me!
And, your right, I had a lot harder time getting out of that thing this year!

Sorry your meal/server was not good.

I LOVE Jasmine's ring!

I am so happy that it's not just me stuggling to get out of that ride.....I keep telling myself it's because you're so low to the ground:rolleyes1

She has gotten more compliments on that ring that any other she wears....

Aww I'm sorry you had such a horrid server and that the food wasn't to your liking. We had breakfast there in Sept but we've never had dinner there. I hope the rest of your dining experiences were much better! :goodvibes

I cannot wait to try breakfast next summer.....I have heard nothing but good things......:cloud9:

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience at Kona. We have not had dinner there but I wanted to try it. I'm a little scared now after reading about your experience.

I'm enjoying your TR! :thumbsup2

I keep wondering if it's because everything was "different" than last time.....the dishes were all named the same but prepared completely differently.......

Mark was up early today...couldn't sleep with the change in time.

I don't know how I'll ever get an update on my TR as it seems everyone else is updating and I'm trying to keep up with theirs.

That is awful that you had such a lousy waitress at Kona for your dinner and that the food was not as good as you remembered it. We've never been (we were supposed to do breakfast in September, but we skipped it because we were tired after our night before with Cayley and Avery).

Your pictures, however, are great. And Jasmine is just so pretty.

I can't think of a better reason to skip than a late night with those two little sweeties:hug: Thank you so much for your compliment to Jasmine....oh wait....she says'thanks so much'.

Wow we woke up at the exact same time today!! How weird!! lol I kept talking about the extra hour of sleep as well and well we know how that turned out. The desserts at Kona looked really good but that service would have really ruined what started to be such a nice evening. That's too bad when they act like that, we went to P.F. Changs last night and must of had the same server. :rotfl:

Tell Jasmine we love her ring!! Hope you guys got more pics together, you both are so photogenic!!

That is too funny that we were up at the same time! I love this time change...the next one, not so much:lmao:

I passed along your compliments on the ring and she has corrected me....she bought it at the Magic Kingdom in the store where they have all the figurines and some jewellery. Yes, there is more pics of us together, but I was nervous to ask that server in case she yelled at me again:eek:

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend....we are having the best weather here.....and we're keeping our fingers crossed it continues......

I forgot to share something in my last post.....

For those of you who have followed us on previous reports you know that we often travel with my sister and her family....on here she is Purplepeg and her hubby is Geodoc. If you've noticed her postings, she has two tickers going, one for next summer when we'll all be staying for 2 weeks at AKL and another for a Disney Cruise. They have asked Jasmine if she would like to go along and I know you'll all be shocked when she jumped at the chance. She is beyond excited as are my sister's two girls.

Peg booked two staterooms (is that the right terminology) one for her and her hubby and one for Jasmine, Snow White (10) and Mini MOntana (6). They will be leaving here on Feb 4, staying overnight at the hotel in MCO, then heading to their cruise on Feb 5. This will be the longest my baby has been away from me....not quite sure how I'm going to handle it:eek: I believe their ports of call are Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and of course Castaway Cay.

I will have to get her on here after to tell you all about it!

That sounds VERY exciting! Where's MY aunt to take ME on cruises??!!!:confused3

How sweet of your sister to take Jasmine with them on the cruise. I bet she will love that.

Oh WOW, how nice of your sister :thumbsup2:goodvibes. I know Jasmine IS excited :cheer2::dance3:.

I hope we are going to encounter the low crowds in December :goodvibes. I was reading, on another site, that the Christmas parade is usually filmed the first weekend in December. That would be so much fun to see.

I hate that Kona wasn't good. We have eaten there twice and the first time it wasn't good, but last September it was great. I have an ADR for December, but I may cancel it. In our last two trips we has noticed a decline in both TS and CS restaurants. Grand Floridian Cafe was beyond great last September, but not good in May. My steak at GFC in May was like your's at Kona. I just can't see paying the increasing prices, for food on property, while the quality decreases :sad1:.

How awesome about the cruise!!! That is my dream to do that sometime. My friends are all saying that now we've done a reunion here in Cincinnati and just a few weeks ago at WDW, now it's time to cruise. I totally agree with that!!!!! We'll see if it ever pans out since I didn't think this trip was ever going to be completed lol.

I also agree about the server issue. We had the same issue but at Ohana. We would have loved to have the server the table 2 down from us when we were there in March but we didn't :( I booked an ADR for Kona in Dec (NEXT MONTH CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!) but if we have a car we're going to consider Captains Grill or even WCC since we're staying at WL. We'll see!

:lmao:Me too!!!

How sweet of your sister to take Jasmine with them on the cruise. I bet she will love that.

They have a very special relationship...both my sister and her hubby with Jas...never mind her two girls who adore her and vice versa!

Oh Dana I hope you get to the taping! When my best friend and I took a girls only trip in 2005 we attended and it was one of the best memories we have. It made watching the parade on Christmas Day even more special!

It makes me sad how service and food quality seems to have decreased...everyone keeps saying it's a sign of the times but I think people just don't seem to care as much anymore and that makes me sad.

My dream too Tink, but I don't know if it will ever happen:confused3 When I look at the price for a week on the cruise or two weeks in the world I know where I want to be:woohoo: I hope it works out for you and your friends:hug:

Jas and I did Captains Grille which you'll read about in later posts and we loved it, I would go back again in a heartbeat....our server was amazing too:worship:

Wow that is great!! And we will keep you company while she is gone!!!:grouphug:

She is a lucky girl! I knew I could count on my Dis-friends for company:hug:

How fortunate for Jasmine to be going on that cruise in Feb. That sounds fantastic! What a wonderful time of year to cruise and get away from the cold winter weather.

I can't see pics from your last update, but I will look later. Sorry about the drink mix-up. A white sangria sounds so lovely.

I'm sorry about your bad experience at Kona! How exciting about Jasmine's cruise! What a kind aunt she has!

I am excited for your trip to AKL! Have you stayed there? I loved it. It might be my favorite resort. I love, love, love the chix flatbread at Mara!

Can't wait for more pics!
Deb

Yay about the cruise! Someday I will go on one of those!:goodvibes

I hope someday for me too...but it won't be in the near future:confused3:sad2:

It's so cold here at the beginning of February....I guess I'll just hibernate while they're away:rolleyes1That white sangria was so nice and refreshing, it could definitely be one of those drinks that would hit ya hard cause it tastes so good you don't realize the alcohol......

She is getting pretty excited....I've started her list, but I'm going to let her get everything ready and I'll just supervise:rolleyes1

We stayed at AKL last summer when we went and we loved it too! We had a pool view and whenever we were in our room Jasmine was on the balcony ... she loved having a balcony! I never tried the flatbread, but I will next summer!

Sorry I forgot! I read my TR last night (reliving Disney memories) and saw your comments about AKL. It is a great place. I can't wait to go back!

I am sorry your server was so rude. Not at all acceptable. I am also sorry the food was not so good. We ate there in May 09 and also were not to impressed. Yay for the cruise. I agree with you on the price being a bit :scared1: Will there be a TR on the cruise board for us to read?

What an awful server at Kona Cafe. How can someone be like that in Disney of all places and expect to keep their job??? I like going there for breakfast but I'll have to steer clear for dinner!

That's so exciting for Jasmine and the cruise! Hope she tells us all about it.

I do the same thing!! The other night there I was reading ours from summer 2008...it seems like only yesterday but even when I look at Jasmine, never mind my nieces, I see how much they've changed in 2 years:confused3 We can't wait for AKL next summer...we always take advantage of Boma when we stay there....love that restaurant!!

I'm so excited for Jas to get to take the cruise!!!

Me too!!

I already told her that she has to take tons of pictures....now I'll break the news that she needs to do a TR:woohoo:

Me too and i can't wait to hear al about it seens mike and i are going on the Disney cruise for our honey moon

How exciting for you too!! I still can't believe she's going and I'm not:eek:

That's exactly how I felt...it always takes me back when CM's aren't cheerful and happy! I think we're going to try breakfast there next summer....

I will let her know that you'll all be waiting for a TR of the cruisepopcorn::

This would be the day that we would be heading to DHS...this is the park that holds our favorite rides! We were out of the room by 8am and headed to the food court for breakfast. Jasmine had a chocolate croissant and I had raisin bran....We then headed out to the bus. The lineup was quite long so we were pretty sure we wouldn't be making it for rope drop as there was 2 scooters to load too! Luck was on our side this fine morning when a second bus pulled up!! This is when a fight almost broke out in line....I can't believe how some people are so oblivious to life around them. So everyone is in the lineup and going to the second bus when out of no where this family of 5 cuts everyone off and gets right on the bus. People were yelling and it was like they had no clue what everyone was talking about....Jasmine and I just shook out heads....it's takes all kinds I guess, but I honestly couldn't believe they were that ignorant...ignorant in the stupid sense:lmao:
166.jpg

We usually head straight for ToT and RnRC, but that's when my BIL is with us...see, he doesn't ride ToT so he usually runs to TSM, grabs fastpasses and meets back up with us to ride RnRC. Today, we had to run ourselves! But not before we stopped for a couple of photos!
167.jpg

It's nice to go back and look at how everyone changes every year when we look at them isn't it?
168.jpg

Jasmine wanted a pic with the High School Musical stuff in it...she does still enjoy those movies.
169.jpg

From there we made a dash to TSM, but again mama made her stop for another picture
170.jpg

The store across from the entrance to the ride
171.jpg

Jasmine waiting in line...it was outside this fine morning!
172.jpg

I love the shot from the lineup....it really makes you feel like a toy!
173.jpg

Scrabble...who doesn't love a good game of scrabble? When we were little we were stationed in Germany and we used to play a lot of board games....great childhood memories!
174.jpg

As you can see we were in for a bit of a wait...but we knew in the end it's all worth it.
175.jpg

This little sign almost made me not ride the first time....I get terrible motion sickness from spinning rides but I have no problem on this one ... thank goodness
176.jpg

Jasmine in line....nothing else to do but take some pics
179.jpg

Taking more pics....oh my, who is that behind Jasmine's head on either side....the line cutters from the bus in the morning....we laughed our heads off when we saw them again! They obviously survived all the hostility on the bus
181.jpg

Ya gotta love the ceiling
182.jpg

Almost there...it actually was more like a 40 minute wait so we were pretty happy
183.jpg

The stairs leading down to the ride vehicles
184.jpg

From TSM we headed to ToT and RnRC...Jasmine was so desperate to get on her favorite rides I didn't make her stop for any pictures!
185.jpg

After getting our fill we were heading out of the park for our afternoon by the pool! We stopped at the shop where they sell chocolate covered strawberries, grabbed a bench and watch some of the street performers. I love doing this, it's probably one of my favorite things to do at DHS. As you can see the crowds were very low this day.
186.jpg

We lucked in with the buses again and it was waiting for us when we arrived at the stop...we waited about 5 minutes and 2 more families and we were off to the hotel. We grabbed a salad and quesadillas for lunch and headed to the room to change. As you can see we literally had the pool to ourselves for about the first 15 minutes. It was heavenly...we may have enjoyed a cocktail by the pool on this fine day!
187.jpg

Jasmine always brings novels with her to read by the pool. That girl could read all day everyday. She went through 6 novels on this trip...
