Spiderman and Despicable Me Openings?

Hey everyone!

I'm going to be visiting May 14th-17th. My friends and I are all extremely excited about the updates to Spiderman and the new Despicable Me ride! I know right now it says 2012 as the release date, but we are hoping they would be open before we go. Do you guys know, based on previous attractions, when the most likely time will be for them to open it up? Or ,maybe even have test runs going?

Despicable Me has only been officially announced as "Summer 2012", so I don't like your chances there.

Spiderman is already undergoing refurb and has not closed nor is scheduled to. All refurb work is taking place after-hours on a not-to-interfere basis.

We're going May 7th-14th and hoping Despicable Me will be finished and open by then too!

I was there on November 1st and 3rd and the only Despicable Me signs I saw posted on the walls said SPRING 2012. It may have changed to Summer since I have been there but when I was there it said Spring.

Oh, I really hope it opens in Spring. I think it would just enhance the OPs trip! The only thing is that WWoHP was announced to open in 'Spring 2010', but opened on June 18, because this is (technically speaking) still Spring. I hope it opens up way before that for the Spring Break crowds, because I will be one of them! Have a great trip and Happy Holidays!

I hope anything new will be open by June. This is our year to visit for the first time to Universal with our 11 yr old DS. My DH & I were there in 1996. Our dates are 6/7-6/14

Spiderman will be closed from Feb. 8 through early March.
