Spiderman 2

I saw it a few days ago and I loved it. Much better than the first one.

"Eat your green vegetables kids!":teeth:

I also saw it a few days ago and thought it was better than the first. I must be in the minority here but I liked the romantic side of the movie too. Can't wait to see #3!:D

They really did a good job setting up for the third, but I hope they have dual villains instead of just another GG.

I'm no expert on this, and I'm sure that someone who's a Superman comic book fan can confirm or deny this, but my 11 year old son who watches all the cartoons said that they're setting up The Lizard, who is also Peter's professor, Dr. Connors. (The Dylan Baker character.)

That is a rumor flying around right now.

And Venom will eventually come into the picture.

Cool, Venom is my favorite Spiderman villain. I always wondered why he wasn't one of the villains in the Spiderman ride at IOA.

I have got to read more comic books to keep up on these important issues.:p

The cartoon show in the early 90s helped as well. It explained how Venom came to be, then how Carnage was spawned from Venom, etc.

Boo Hoo! I want to see this movie, but part of DS punishment for a "report card issue" is that we will not take him to see the movie when it opens. DH wants the two of us to go, but I can't bear to go without DS. We are sending DS to three weeks of academic camp (planned before we knew of report card issue) and I'm thinking going to see SP2 would be a good reward for great participation in the camps. DH wants to wait until after first report card next school year. I do not want to miss it in theaters, however. Thoughts?

Hmm, if you told him no Spiderman for a bad report card, I think you gotta stick to it and reward him with something else for a good camp. He's gotta remember that he can't just suck it up for three weeks to get what he wants, he's gotta work the whole year. If you cave in, he'll figure you always will. I had a similar problem with my youngest about 1 1/2-2 years ago. She got no tv for almost two weeks because she tried to pretend she couldn't do her work and woudn't try, and we would literally sit in the kitchen at the table for 2 hours to get five minutes worth of work completed (we are both stubborn and thick headed). Anyway, I won, she learned, and my kids reward for their two great report cards was our upcoming trip to Universal.

Just saw the movie tonight. We really liked it. There were parts that made us sit on the edge of our seats. However, I think we liked part 1 better b/c it had more action, and less love story. I liked the love story, but I could of done w/o all of it. With that said, I can't wait for part 3!

I tend to be very critical, but over all I did enjoy the movie. Usually I'm a sucker for romantic endings, which this one did. but at the same time, I agree with DH that is was too much love story and not enough action. He was yawning at the end! besides wanting more action, I kept hearing about the computer imaging being better, but I found this one didn't look as natural. What stand out, is the seen where Spiderman is spinning through the city and under him was some fire trucks, they just looked so fake to me.
Now we aren't readers to the comic books, to know if the movie stayed true to the real story. But we were surprised to see how many people "saw" his face. Is that in the comic books? was Mj supposed to see him that early and how about all those people he saved? My DH said Mj is going to have the "Princess Peach"(Mario) syndrome, with always having to be saved from the bad guys.
I suppose if the villains didn't know spidey was Peter parker, then MJ could date "P. Parker" and she wouldn't be threatened. But now that his friend (who i guess is taking over Green Gobin).
But we did think it was a good movie though.
