Spice Road Table or Chefs de France?

I'm taking a solo trip in May and planning on hitting up as many sit down restaurants as possible that I haven't tried yet (while still doing Boma, because it's my favorite restaurant on property and no trip is complete without a stop there.) Anyway, I have a reservation at both
Spice Road Table and Chefs de France on my Epcot day and wondering if anyone had suggestions as to which I should stick with. I do have the DDP, so I'm not concerned about price discrepancies (yeah tip isn't included, but I can't see that making more than a $1.50 difference between the two) just which has better food.

I went to both places solo and thought for our overall experience I had a better experience a chef de French. The food was a little bit better there as well but the service was amazing compared to spice Road table the service was a joke. My waiter disappeared for like 20 minutes and I wanted to refill water.

I enjoy the food at both places, so for me, my decision would not be about food quality.

However, the well-seasoned food at Spice Table is less common than the French food readily available to me in my home community.

Also, Spice Road offers the opportunity to sit outdoors and watch Disney-life pass-on-by.

Therefore, the unique aspect of the food, in addition to be able to sit by the water and watch the ferries go back and forth, would have me 'leaning towards' Spice Road Table if I were dining solo.

Absolutely Spice Road! Food is fantastic and so is the atmosphere. I'm a picky eater and was nervous about Spice Road but LOVED it.

We haven't been to Chefs since Remy left. :(

I enjoy both as well so the good news is that I don’t think you can go wrong. Perhaps a function of my “usual” order but I think of Chefs as a heavier and richer meal. The inside very cozy, tables rather close together, and something magical about being in there and, if you’re seated by the windows, watching people walk by. I just ate there a few weeks ago with the Candlelight package and it was perfect for a holiday themed evening with a chill in the air. Spice Road has some lighter fare and, weather permitting, I find the patio delightful (might even try to time with Illuminations). I’d probably pick Spice Road in May but comes down to personal preference. They’re both great choices.

I enjoy both, but I would go to Chefs for dinner. What I like to do is go to Spice Road for a glass of wine and the hot brie dip. You can always do that if you have time, so you can experience both.

I agree with this. This is probably 2 of our 3 favorite restaurants in the WS (the other being R&C). I would do Chefs for dinner and maybe go to SRT for a small plate or 2 (hummus fries and spicy garlic shrimp) and a glass (or pitcher) of sangria for an early lunch.

Chefs de France is my vote. We found the food & the service to be much better than Spice Road.

We went to SR this past week for the first time and really enjoyed it. We ordered several small plates as we wanted variety and shared as a group, all was very good as was the waiter. A little chilly sitting outdoors but they turned on the propane heater-lamp as soon as we asked. A very pleasant surprise as Restaurant Marrakesh has never been a favorite.
