SPG points

First, can my husband use my number (or can I add my husband's name to my SPG number so he can use it when he travels?)

Second - I went on their website to see what I could get for how many points and noticed that the Swan and Dolphin are not on there. Does anyone know for sure if you can use points to pay for a night at S/D?

(Since we're investing in annual passes, I thought we'd use the 8,000 points for this trip to go again in the spring or summer for free!)

There is a spot on the SPG site that allows you to combine points for a spouse. That way if your dh travels to Starwood properties you can combine his points with yours.

A free night at the Swan or Dolphin is 10,000 points per night (they are category 4 hotels) and yes you can book them for 10,000 points per night.

DH had better be heading down to Texas for trial A LOT this year! LOL

I noticed that they have some off-site Sheratons for 2,000 a night. Not the same, but that way I could go for four days for free

We made our room reservation in my husband's name so we could get the govt. discount, but our spg card is in my name. It was no problem adding the spg number to the reservation. It may be a problem though if you aren't traveling together. I'd call the spg 800 number to see if they need to issue your husband another card or put his name on your account.

You may want to ask some of the S/D experts, but many people use the SPG AmEx card that earns them points. I don't have one because of the annual fee and I have a Disney Visa instead.
