I signed up for Starwood Preferred Guest quite a while ago and then forgot all about it.

Today I found the bookmarked website so I thought I should look into it.

I have not rec'd a card in the mail..should I have? I am in Canada-does that make a difference??

I don't expect that I will use the card until our next trip to WDW which is planned for Oct./2004. We are planning to be married at the Swan resort at that time. If I have not used the card will it have any advantages for me at that point?? Or will I just begin collecting my points (or whatever they are called) at that time --so that I wouldn't have any benefit from the card until our 2 trip to one of there hotels?

Gosh-I hope that my ramblings make sense!!!

Thanks a bunch!

The card gets you a shorter check in line when you are checking is, as they have a person just for GPG people. Even if you have never used the card, I think you can ask for a free upgrade and see what happens. I think they are more linient with people with the cards.

You will not get anypoints until after your stay has been completed, but you can add points by eating at any Starwood hotel, or buying something at any of their shops before your trip. While at the Swan you get points for anything on your room tab :) :)

Yes, you should have gotten a card. You can re-order one right from the SPG.com site...or call them and they will send it out in about 10 day (that is how long mine took)

Please let us know about your wedding....good luck!
