Spent the Day at WDW Yesterday!

I am in Melbourne, FL on business and I had a free day so I decided to go to WDW for the day. I got to downtown disney at about 10am and just strolled around for a few hours. There were very few people there when I arrived but it soon got more crowded. I ate lunch at the earl of sandwitch at about 11am and I was the only one there. It was nice. I took the bus to the CR and strolled around all the monorail resorts and then went back to downtown disney and went to guest relations. I made some PS for my trip in September and then I checked to see if they had an PS available for Cape May. They DID!! I had dinner there and strolled around the BC. There were about 5 people total in SAB and it was very nice outside. After that I strolled around West Side and PI and then went back to the hotel in melbourne. It was great to have the day at WDW.

Awesome! Did you go into the parks at all?

Nope..no parks at all. Just DTD, PI and some resort sightseeing. It was great to know that I was getting paid to be at WDW

I don't know if this would be a good thing for me or punishment. While it sounds like a great time on business to be able to get to WDW for a day at the same time, Just getting to be there for a day might make me miserable. Well, since your trip is coming up in Sept. it probably just fueled the "I gotta get back" fire.

Cape May was pretty crowded. I had 8:20pm PS and I arrived at 8:10. By the time I walked away from the podium my pager was going off. They had my table ready. I guess it's easier when you are only 1 person eating. It seemed like other were waiting much longer. Everyone was really nice to me though. It almost seemed like they gave me more attention because I was by myself. I had a great time though.

When I'm anywhere near Orlando on business, I always hit WDW, and specifically, Magic Kingdom. Sometimes, I'll get lucky and I can write off a stay at AKL and a couple dinners at Jiko on my expense account. During the day, I typically don't have a whole lot of time so I'll stop in and usually just walk up Main Street and have an Ice Cream cone. Then I call my wife and do a little serious gloating! Amazing what just that little amount of Magic can do for a business trip!
