Spent the day at AK yesterday!

Hi! We are in FL visiting the grands and spent yesterday at AK. What a wonderful day! The weather was beautiful and things couldn't have gone better for us. Everyone in our party had a great time.

We arrived at 7:45AM and left at 7PM. It was a long day, but because we used an itinerary plan and fast passes everything went very smooth with very little wait times. We rode PW, Din, ITABL, KRR, and the Safari all by 10:00AM. That is when we first noticed the crowds. The pathways were really filling up. We headed for the Lion King show and then had lunch at Rainforest. The park stayed pretty crowded until after the parade when it started to thin out a bit. It nevery really cleared out, but it was much better after 4 than before 2.

What you can expect. Wait times of 60-70 minutes for all rides anytime after 10AM. We used fastpasses all day by sending someone in the party over to get them for everyone. It worked for us and we never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride all day. We rode all of the above rides twice! The fastpasses were gone for most of the rides sometime around 2. We were lucky that both Kali and PW had problems sometime during the day and our fastpasses for those rides were good all day because of the problems.

I'd be happy to answer any questions! I've always gone in the off season so this day trip really worried me. BUT with a plan even the busiest of times can be great! Have a blast all who are going next week!!!

I know at Disneyland, the CMs look at the Fast Pass time window in terms that it must have passed for your to ride.......but you can still ride if the time has expired. Is Disney World the same way?

People have reported that you can use the fastpass after the time expired as long as it was within reason.

I'm not sure what "reason" is, but I'm sure being polite will also help.

We were at AK last week. It was crowded by doable. We had a great day. I'm glad you did too.

We were at AK on Sunday...which is usually a slow day but there were alot of people. A CM told me that they expected 40,000 people.

not my choice of Great times to go but it when all the family could et together....
Weather will be cool so that is nice and with a plan we will be fine.

How was the RFC? I have PS for them in May and I've gotten so many mixed reviews on the restaurant board. How was the service and the food?

RFC was really good. The service was fast and prompt and the food was good. Not great, but good. It worked perfect for us as an afternoon break although it went a lot faster than I expected on a busy day, but I guess I can't complain about that! We did have to stand in a long line to check in, even with our PS. I guess we waited about 15 minutes to sign in and then we got our slip to be called to our table. Maybe 20 minutes total wait. Once we were seated, everything was very efficient.
